Adriano set for Corinthians move

It’s reported Adriano has agreed a deal with Brazilian club Corinthians after terminating his contract with Roma.

The striker arrived on a free transfer in the summer, but barely played due to fitness and form issues.

After repeatedly delaying his return from holiday in Brazil and missing appointments with club doctors, Adriano terminated his contract with Roma by mutual consent.

L’Imperatore is seeking a return to his homeland and according to the latest reports has found his destination.

It’s claimed he reached an agreement with Corinthians after a meeting in Rio de Janeiro and will finalise the deal on Friday.

The former Inter hitman is set to earn $300,000 per month with another $250,000 linked to the number of games he plays.

Well this seems to be quite definite. It looks like Di Benedetto will arrive in Rome on Monday and the papers will be signed on Tuesday.

What do you all think of the rumours Buffon? Sounds like a big pile of shite to me and more media speculation of what our potential new owners are going to do. I think we do need to address our goalkeeping situation for next season but I don't think splashing out big bucks for Buffon would be the smartest move we could make. We can look at other alternatives. Like Shay Given.


I've been doin a bit of tidying to the Roma forum, and I've changed the number of pages in our 'Tana dei Lupi' threads to a max of 999 (we previously capped it at 300), so now there are only two, this one, 'Tana dei Lupi II', and (now locked).

Also updated Carlo's thread which he loved so much with some new pics.

Do you think Given's fallen away that badly?

I'd love Given to join us and I think he'd be interested in a move if we made a solid approach. He would welcome a change of scenery and Trapattoni has talked to him about a move to Italy. He's miles better than anything we have now and anything we've been linked with (Buffon aside, naturally).

Did you hear the on Menez that the tifosi were shouting "Menez vattene" at him at the Trigoria today? What's your take on that?

How old is Given now? A hundred and eight? What's my take on that? Many of the fans in Roma are idiots - that's my take on that.

I like Curci and would love for him to be our long-term number one but I just don't think he has what it takes and don't think he'd be a huge improvement over what we have now. He's a fine keeper, no doubt, but just not quiet reaching that top level. I do agree that our squad age is quite high and thats important to keep in mind in signing new players, but for goalkeeper's its different, and Given at 34 still has a good few years at the top level left in him. He's a lot better than the likes of Sirigu and Marchetti and Sorrentino whom we've been linked with lately.

lol, no, there was a time when Given was coming back from injury in which Harper held on for a while, but there was no doubt who was number one there. Pity Jamoldo doesn't come round these parts anymore.

Here's a list from Il Romanista (article on Romanews) detailing the eight players that the new owners will consider untouchable. At this point it may be conjecture but it's certainly reassuring. Interesting that Juan isn't on the list. Then again he hasn't been impressing this season has he? Totti, De Rossi,Borriello, Burdisso, Mexes, Menez, Pizarro and Vucinic. Full article below.

Do we have any players involved for the Azzurri tonight (or tomorrow, or whenever it is)? It's hard to get too excited without DDR in there at least. I think even Borriello missed out this time round. Prandelli needs to include Rosi, Cassetti, Brighi and Perrotta just to get me a little more itnerested. That should be his number one concern.
