we played better in the last 25 minutes with ten men than we did before ibra got sent off. i was against him coming in the summer, then he began winning me over, but now i am slowly coming around to my initial position that zlatan is a negative presence on the team.

we were awful today but unlucky not to get 3 points, i missed the first 45 but it looked like Abbiati could have and should have done better on there goal, his positioning was awful. then the RObinho goal which on second looking looked like he was onside when Ibra headed the ball to him and then we had the one goal that did count and the push/block on Pato which could have and probably would have been a penalty on another day.

updated my spreadsheet and corrected a couple of issues that emerged over the weekend; namely, the difficulty in updating the old one which has been resolved. it can now be updated for any two teams, and the only cells requiring any input are shaded. it only won't work if the two teams have more than one heads up game remaining, but that can be corrected as well.

anyway, despite our draw, our chance of beating inter heads up are around 83% as we still have a five-point lead, and there are now only nine games remaining. of course, the biggest variable in play are the percentages for winning games, for which i have used all results since the start of the season. it may be that this underestimates inter's chances since they have been playing much better post-benitez, and we are suffering due to pirlo's absence.

Ibra to discover fate
Zlatan Ibrahimovic will learn today whether he has been suspended for the Milan derby after picking up a red card against Bari on Sunday.

The Sweden international appeared to slap Bari defender Marco Rossi in the gut and received a straight red for unsporting behaviour.

Serie A's disciplinary commissioner will decide whether to follow the line indicated by the referee Christian Brighi and punish Ibrahimovic with a two-match ban.

However, there is a possibility that the incident will be reviewed. In which case if the slap is considered violent conduct, Ibrahimovic will be ruled out for three games.

Either way, it is unlikely that Ibrahimovic will escape punishment and be available for the Derby della Madonnina, which takes place in two games' time.

La Gazzetta dello Sport understands Milan will appeal the decision whatever the outcome.

Palermo’s chances of ending a five-game losing streak don’t look promising with the arrival of League leader’s Milan this weekend.

Things haven’t improved under Delio Rossi’s replacement Serse Cosmi who has introduced a three-man defence and dropped a fantasista in Josip Ilicic.

Of great concern to Palermo fans is the fact that their once uber-creative team hasn’t scored a goal in Serie A in each of their last four matches despite the fantasia available to Cosmi.

There were encouraging signs against Genoa last weekend. Indeed, Cosmi might have got his first point if Mauricio Pinilla hadn’t wasted a glorious chance.

But Palermo still ended up losing 1-0 and Javier Pastore seems to have regressed into the brilliant yet slightly irritating player that frustrated Walter Zenga when he first arrived in Italy.

Three months ago the Rosanero were knocking on the door of next year’s Champions League. That now looks like a pipe dream.

However, Palermo would do well to remember that they comprehensively out-played Milan on their last visit to Sicily, winning 3-1 with an extraordinary performance.

Milan will be without Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the first of a three match-ban after he received a heavy punishment for getting sent off against Serie B bound Bari last weekend.

It will be interesting to see how Milan react to the Swede’s absence, although Alexandre Pato insists that his side can win without him.

Milan need to go into the Derby della Madonnina with as much of their five-point advantage intact, but Massimiliano Allegri will not want his side to become distracted.

It’s natural Inter will be tired after Tuesday’s exploits in the Champions League, but Sunday’s match against Lecce should be a home banker.

For that reason, Milan need to leave Sicily on Saturday evening with a positive result.

Keep an eye on: Alexandre Pato (Milan) – Lethal in Serie A, the Duck is looking forward to stepping out of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s shadow during the Swede’s three-match suspension if anything to show that he is just as important to their title campaign.

i don't think i recall a counterattack by our team in, at least, the past 5 games. allegri has strict orders on keeping the ball, but we've got some great players to play counterattacking football, i don't know why we utilize the strategy more.

Gattuso: Milan are scared
Milan midfielder Rino Gattuso admits that there is a fear within the dressing room that the team risks letting the Scudetto slip through its fingers.

The gap at the top closed to just two points on Sunday and next week's Derby della Madonnina against champions Inter is already being billed as a title decider.

Interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Gattuso said: “It's a fact. We could have gone seven points clear and instead find ourselves with a two-point lead before the derby. It's been 10 days since things started going in the wrong direction.

“If the title race is open again, it's our fault, but destiny is in our hands. The derby will be decisive. We must prepare for it well both in the head and in the legs.

“I expected more from the entire team. And it angers me that in Palermo every time we put a ball in the box there was no one ready to put it in the back of the net.
