Also bizarre that Udinese are letting two of their most sought-after players leave on co-ownerships.

Mauricio Isla has moved a step closer to joining Juventus after the Udinese man arrived in Turin for his medical. Isla will move to the Old Lady this summer along with Kwadwo Asamoah. They will join the club in co-ownerships and will cost the Italian champions a combined €15m.

The Ghanaian midfielder had his medical on Thursday and the Chilean will undergo the same tests on Friday. Isla, who was also linked with Inter, will have to prove his fitness after picking up knee ligament damage in March.

The wide player, 23, scored three goals in 21 League games for the Stadio Friuli outfit in 2011-12. He’s been in Udine since 2007.

I don't really get the need for Isla.

It may be called a co-ownership, but I think it's just a mechanism to allow Juve to spread the payments over a longer period. Juve will sign the other half of both of them next summer.

Mauricio Isla has effectively sealed his transfer to Juventus by sending a message to Udinese on Twitter.

“Thank you Udine for five wonderful years,” wrote the Chilean winger.

“Thanks to you I am able to play for one of the biggest clubs in Italy. It was a pleasure playing with you.”

Isla is set to complete his transfer along with teammate Kwadwo Asamoah on Monday.

Both players underwent medicals in Turin this week.

Giovinco belongs to Juve – report

Sebastian Giovinco’s co-ownership status between Parma and Juventus has reportedly been resolved in the Old Lady’s favour.

Following talks between the two clubs today, it is being claimed that Juve have agreed to pay the Tardini outfit around €11m to buy Parma’s half share in him.

The Gialloblu signed a cut in the Italian international last summer for around just €3m.

Reports this morning claimed that Giovinco would end the day as a Juventus player, although there has been no official confirmation from the club yet.

Deal cost about 7m when you factor in the loan fee and what Parma paid for his half.

Not too bad given how much better a player he is now compared to two years ago.

Giovinco's agent seems to think Juve do intend to keep him rather than trading him away in another deal.

Things seem pretty far along for Verratti.

Juve will pay about 5m for half of him and he'll be left at Pescara for this coming season.

They didn't have much choice.

If it went to the envelopes, Parma wouldn't be able to afford to bid more than about 8m for his other half, I'd imagine, so Juve would have bid about 10m and got him that way.

This was just everyone being realistic about the situation.

Well, still surprised they gave him back so easily. Surely they would have been able to bid more than €8m for him in the envelopes and take a punt, and then looked to sell him on for a much bigger profit if they wanted too.

Hummels wanted by Juve boss

Juventus boss Antonio Conte has asked club officials for German international stopper Mats Hummels, according to reports.

The tactician is keen for a new centre-back and the Borussia Dortmund man is at the top of his wish-list.

However, it seems unlikely that the Turin giants will be able to deliver the 23-year-old given the potential cost of the operation.

Borussia value the former Bayern Munich player at around €18m – a fee considered too high for a defender given that Juve are hoping to use their transfer funds to sign a top striker.

Juventus are also interested in Portugal and Zenit defender Bruno Alves and they will attempt to convince his Russian club to release him on loan for 2012-13.

He is a player who barely managed to look good when he was very mobile and as he loses that speed his lack of intelligence will become more and more apparent.
