Quagliarella and Matri have recently signed new contracts, so the logical conclusion is that Borriello will be ditched, but Conte has frequently preferred Borriello over Matri recently.
Juve want Cavani, but I'd be surprised if they can pull that off.
They spoke to Van Persie's agent but after hearing his wage demands they seem to be looking at other options.
Lots of links to Higuain and Suarez.
Dzeko's agent has also been quoted as saying Juve are interested in him. Juve certainly wanted him back before he went to City.
They are trying to use their good relations with Siena to buy their half of him just now, to then negotiate with Genoa for the other half.
The other teams interested (Inter and Roma) just seem to be waiting until his ownership is resolved between Genoa and Siena before really making a move.
If we get Siena's half, the Genoa half won't be too hard to negotiate. They'll probably want some cash + the other half of Immobile so they can have full ownership of his contract.
Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has discussed the club’s transfer plans in a revealing interview with the Corriere dello Sport.
Having won the Scudetto this season, the Turin official is now working on building a team to challenge in the Champions League – despite fierce competition from wealthier clubs on the market.
“There are powerful owners in England, while the Germans depend on entrepreneurship and management,” the former Sampdoria man noted.
“Having lost our leadership from the 1990s, the only solution open to Italy is to focus on organisation and culture. The gap remains though, especially in revenue terms.
“We are looking to increase the size of our squad. That is a necessity because we’ll be facing the prospect of more games.
“For the same reason, boss Antonio Conte and his team are already working on what training methods to use to prevent injuries.
“We have to try and win the Champions League, our prestige obliges us to do that. Juve can’t only be content with taking part. But it depends on a lot of factors. Look at Chelsea, they seemed out and then they won it.
“We are looking for two or three excellent elements, without losing sight of the balance of a squad which has important technical and human qualities. We also have to balance the finances.”
The club’s top priority is a new striker and they’ve been linked with Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie, Luis Suarez of Liverfekkin'wankscum and Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain.
“Van Persie is one of the best players in circulation,” he smiled. “It is possible that he, along with Suarez and Higuain, will be one of the top players we are after. They are interesting players.”
The Bianconeri have also been paired with Napoli’s Edinson Cavani and Mario Balotelli of Manchester City, but Marotta played down those reports.
“Cavani? You always have to consider the desire of the clubs which own players.
“We have never thought about Balotelli. He doesn’t fit the profile we are looking at, a profile which isn’t based solely on technical ability.”
Moving on to the club’s midfield targets, it is no secret that they hope to sign two teenagers – Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and Marco Verratti of Pescara.
“We respected the rules,” he explained when asked about the Frenchman. “Pogba, for his own reasons, didn’t intend to renew.
“We informed the club and we are now waiting for an answer. Talks are well advanced.
“Verratti? Juventus have a strong appeal again and not just with youngsters. The fact that the player wants to join us could help negotiations, but an auction has now kicked off and his price is high. We want to invest, but we have rules.”
Verratti, a surprise inclusion in Italy’s 32-man Euro 2012 squad, is being compared with Juve playmaker Andrea Pirlo.
“Pirlo, like tender Alex The Waterboy, is hard to replicate,” Marotta commented. “I don’t see any players around with similar experience or value.
“Conte is a flexible Coach and we are looking for a versatile midfielder. Udinese’s Asamoah? He’s one of the names.
“Our defence? It is one of the hardest to break down in Europe, but we need to fully integrate it.”
Marotta was also questioned on the futures of Marco Borriello, on loan from Roma, and Sebastian Giovinco – the forward who is co-owned with Parma.
“We took an opportunity in January with Borriello. We have a month to consider our options.
“We’ve always believed in Giovinco, but he had to confirm himself as an important player which he now is. He’s matured.
“We’ll now evaluate things with Parma to decide whether to recall him or choose another path.”
The director general also confirmed whispers that Coach Conte would soon put pen to paper on a new contract until June 2015.
Parma’s Sebastian Giovinco has underlined that he will only return to Juventus with the guarantee that he won’t be immediately sold on.
The 25-year-old’s future is in doubt given that he’s a wanted man on the transfer market following his 15 Serie A goals at the Tardini this term.
“First of all Parma and Juventus will have to talk about my co-ownership,” the forward said from Italy’s Coverciano training base on Friday.
“I’m certain that they will find an agreement and then I’ll go and play for whichever club wants me the most.
“I have spoken to Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi. I have always said that it doesn’t make sense to return to Juventus and then be offered as part of another transfer deal.
“I’ll either go to Juventus to remain or stay at Parma.”
Juve may consider recalling their youth team graduate following the decision to part company with Alessandro The Waterboy.
“I feel ready for a big team, especially after the season I have had,” said the player who Ghirardi values at €40m. “I felt the same three years ago, but I wasn’t given the chance to play…
“I have nothing against The Waterboy. Juve may think about taking me back because they have seen me improve. If I’m given a chance then I’ll be ready. I don’t care how much I am worth on the transfer market.”
One of the biggest question marks about the ability of Giovinco revolves around his frame given that he is just 164cms tall.
“I don’t think that Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli thinks about these things,” Giovinco continued.
“He just deserves credit for creating this national side. Barcelona have won everything over the past few years with small players.
“I’ve had a great season and I don’t want to stop. I want to continue with the national side and I’m happy with how things are going.”
There are suggestions that the player could be used as a Trequartista behind two strikers for his country, but Giovinco has cooled that theory.
“I’ve played as a striker this season,” he stated. “I think I’m a 15-goal forward as the numbers illustrate. For now I’m just focused on Italy and not the transfer market.”
I don't think that'd be enough to get him. De Laurentis has said he would sell both Cavani and Lavezzi if they got crazy offers for them, however, with Lavezzi almost certain to move on I think they'd be under a lot of pressure to hang on to Cavani. Selling him to Juve for a deal like that, while not bad, wouldn't go down well with the Napoli fans. I think he'll stay unless one of the big European foreign-owned money-whore clubs make a ridiculous offer.
Once they sell Lavezzi for 30m, it's going to take an outrageous amount of money to get Cavani.
Juve's offer there equates to about 48m, which would probably be about what it would take, but I don't think Napoli have any interest in getting Matri.
Nainggolan: I have Juve deal but… By Football Italia staff
Radja Nainggolan claims he has already agreed personal terms with Juventus, but the proposed move now depends on Cagliari.
The Old Lady initially targeted the midfielder in January, but their interest is still strong as they look to reinforce the side for next season’s Champions League.
“There is already a signed agreement with Juventus,” he told La Derniere Heure. “My agent showed it to me on Monday.
“Everything is ready, but there are two things that could scupper the deal – the interest of other clubs and the cost of my transfer.”
The Belgian international has been heavily linked with outfits in Russia, but he insists that he’d rather continue playing his football in Serie A.
“Zenit are an interested team, but I won’t sign anything until the end of August to keep my Italian options open.
“Money is not everything, I’m 24 now and I want to take a forward step in my career. In principle, I want to remain in Italy.
“Things would change if Inter were interested, while Milan are changing a lot and Napoli are a great club. These are all sides that have asked for information.
“However, Juventus and another club are the ones who are most concrete right now.”
Cagliari’s asking price was one of the reasons why Juventus looked elsewhere at the start of the year and he still won't come cheap.
“I think I’m valued at close to €15m, but Italian clubs would rather sign a Brazilian player for half of that amount…”
Nainggolan would be a very good pick up. He's young and talented, he also fits perfectly into our current system. He can easily slot in for Vidal or Marchisio. Pirlo's role is obviously a little harder to fill, but I can see us doing just fine against low to mid-table sides with a trio of Nainggolan, Vidal, and Marchisio(or Giaccherini for either one of those three).
Juve agree Isla-Asamoah deal? By Football Italia staff
Juventus have agreed a double swoop for Udinese pair Kwadwo Asamoah and Mauricio Isla, according to Tuttosport.
The Turin-based newspaper claims the deal has been struck with the Friulani, who have been in negotiations for several weeks.
Asamoah was also wanted by Manchester United and it was earlier reported that Udinese rejected their €12m offer for the Ghana international.
Tuttosport suggests the agreement is a co-ownership deal for both players with an option for Juventus to buy out the remaining 50 per cent at the end of the season.
Isla is a Chilean winger who missed the last few months of the campaign due to a knee injury.
He turns 24 later this month and Inter have also stated he is one of their objectives.
