Marotta 'getting there' for Rossi



Juventus director general Beppe Marotta admits “we’re getting there” in negotiations for Giuseppe Rossi.
It’s well known they had meetings with Villarreal for the striker this week and put their focus on him after Atletico Madrid rejected their €35m bid for Sergio Aguero.

“We are working without haste, but are focused on many objectives,” Marotta told tuttojuve at the Bardonecchia pre-season training ground.

“Rossi? We’re getting there, it’s true, but we are also tracking other players.”

The 24-year-old is available for €25m plus a player, who is expected to be Felipe Melo.

I think the more likely player to go the other way is Amauri or Sissoko. Melo has a market value of at least 15-20 mil, which Real or Arsenal would most likely pay. I doubt we'd give him up like that.

So it seems like at the moment the players we are being linked with are:

Rossi, Vidal, Diarra, Gastaldello, Meireles, Poli, with Aguero dying down

Any thoughts?

I'm far from convinced Aguero stuff is really dying down.

I think it's just that no more progress can be made until after the Copa America.

Gastaldello is an okay player, but not a big upgrade on what Juve have.

Rossi isn't going to be worth what he would cost.

Hard to comment on the midfielders without knowing what system Juve will play next season. Vidal and Diarra are very good players, but quite different.

I've never been impressed with Poli, but picking him up cheaply wouldn't be a bad move.

Salvatore Bocchetti would be a good pick up. He can play center or LB, which is exactly what we need in a CB right now.

Rossi-Juve talks 'at advanced stage'

Giuseppe Rossi’s agent confirmed “there are some things to finalise, but negotiations are at an advanced stage” with Juventus. The Villarreal starlet is their number one transfer target for the summer and subject to a reported €27m bid.

“There are some things to finalise, so we will have to meet again, but negotiations are at an advanced stage,” agent Federico Pastorello told the Corriere dello Sport. “Talks are aided by the good common sense of the clubs doing the buying and the selling.

“I am confident, even if it’s not right to say too much. It’s never a good idea to get ahead of yourself when dealing with such an important player. “We will all certainly need a little patience.”

It’s reported Juventus had an original €25m bid rejected, but have raised it to €27m plus performance-related bonuses. This brings them very close to Villarreal’s €30m price-tag for the Italian international.

Poli for cheap would be nice. Really surprised why we havent gone for Palombo or Gastaldello who are more game-ready than Poli and cheap as well.

Diarra is the best CM weve been linked with, so we will definitely not get him.


No CBs? Why? Chiellini, Bonucci and Barzagli are all bad options together.

Diarra doesn't want to move to Italy. He'd rather go to England.

Vidal looks the most likely signing for central midfield.

Seems that Bastos will be signed too.

Melo is def being sold and so is Diarra, because they already gave his number 10 to Ozil. It's just a matter of where.

According to La Gazzetta, Vidal is close to Juve and the offer for Rossi is down to 23 million and Villareal may be willing to accept this.

Get Vidal and Rossi and you might start to go somewhere, they'd be two good signings. Is Bastos still being linked with you as well?

Melo: 'I'm leaving Juve'



Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo confirmed: “I’ve received an offer from Europe that will vastly improve my salary. We’re finalising the details.”
There are reports this move could be to any number of clubs, as Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and Galatasaray have all been linked by various sources.

“I’ve received an offer from Europe that will vastly improve my salary,” he told Brazilian media.

“We’re finalising the details and over the next few days everything out to be completed.

“I was not cut from the Juventus squad. Quite simply, in agreement with the directors, we decided it was inconvenient that I should only play in Serie A, considering my salary and the contract that runs to 2014.”

It’s well known Melo is not a part of new Coach Antonio Conte’s plans and failed to win over the Bianconeri supporters.

He had been linked with a return to Brazil, particularly San Paolo, and admits there was truth in those stories.

“I had got to the point of choosing the area I’d live in and I know they’d have treated me with a great deal of affection.

“However, I was very annoyed that people I didn’t even know started commenting on a supposed move to Palmeiras. Flamengo were never interested in me, while Santos and Gremio only ever enquired.”

Juve to sign Rossi tomorrow?



According to reports from Italy, Juventus could complete their capture of Giuseppe Rossi on Wednesday.
Studio Sport claims the negotiations with Villarreal are down to the final details and are set to be whittled down tomorrow.

It’s believed the deal was struck for €25m plus another €4m in performance-related bonuses.

The reports of an imminent transfer are boosted by news Rossi won’t play in tonight’s friendly against Aberdeen.

He is also left off the list of players heading to China for a summer tour.

The price-tag is considerably lower than the original €30m quoted by Villarreal, although with bonuses it does come very close.

Corrieredellosport is linking us with Kjaer, which would be a great pick up. We could push Chiellini to LB or just start him over Bonucci, whose being linked with a swap for Vargas, which I don't really approve of. I think we should close the deal for Rossi and Vidal, pick up Bochetti and or Kjaer, then start selling a few players.
