Moggi critical of Juventus buys



Luciano Moggi has been critical of Juventus' recent moves in the transfer market and feels Fabio Quagliarella might return to Napoli.

Quagliarella's season-ending injury has thrown Juventus into a bit of a panic, making the team's need for a striker all the more glaring.

Speaking to Radio Power Station, Moggi said: “We need to look at the immediate needs. Luca Toni obviously isn't a name for the future. As for Antonio Floro Flores, he's a reserve at Udinese…”

Asked if he would promote players from Juventus' youth team, Moggi replied: “To tell the truth in fact I am of this opinion.

“I believe that Juventus must try and get into the top four and they certainly have the opportunity to do so. I don't understand why they should buy players who they won't need next season.

“I would avoid spending now to invest everything when the transfer window opens in the summer where you can find players in a position to make this team competitive again.

“The problem is the desire to manage the emergency. I had to manage without money [at Juve] for 12 year. Now they have spent almost €200m [since Calciopoli] and can afford players who Juventus don't need and then must be sold straight away.

“On the other hand, they have signed 13 players and sold nine or 10. You don't build like this, you destroy.”

Asked about Quagliarella, he said: “You could suppose that he won't be signed, but this also depends on the agreement made by the two clubs in the summer.”

Is Moggi that stupid?? He claims to have no money?? He spent more money at Juve than this regime has. Moggi's claim to fame, aside from the calciopoli, is that many of his buys became world class players plus being the beneficiary of Parma's financial meltdown.

It's just a suggestion. Not sure how high Storari's market value is, but he is probably one of the top 3 or 4 keepers in the league.

I think Juve paid about 4m for him, and his value will have increased based on his performances this season.

Well, let's hope this Barzagli transfer helps this defense. I think many of the goals are conceded on counters. Juve have to do to better offensively and hold on to the ball. If Barzagli is replacing Legro (who is on his way out) then Juve got deeper at the bench position. Don't think Barzagli is a bench player and should be a starter. Where?? Who knows but I'd like to see Barzagli-Chiellini. I think it is ridiculous how Prandelli chooses the two Juve defenders to play for Italy. That doesn't say much.

I will forgive Juve and all their sins if they bring back Giovinco and start him. Prandelli should give this clown a call up too, he needs to put together a young team that can last 4 tournaments.

It's going to happen, but I don't think he's signed yet.

Juve are waiting for him to get an Italian passport so that he won't take up a non-EU spot.
