The Felipe Melo saga is about to end as Marco Marchionni reveals he is ready to join Fiorentina and give everything to the Viola cause. The Italian winger initially rejected their contract offer after the club agreed a £4m fee with Juventus. But it was only a matter of time before he conceded and accepted the deal. At the Franchi he will match up with former teammate Alberto Gilardino as well as his favourite Coach Cesare Prandelli.

Juventus seal Felipe Melo signing

Juventus have completed the signing of Fiorentina midfielder Felipe Melo for around €21 million, according to Sky Sport Italia. The 25-year-old Brazilian is believed to have agreed a five-year deal worth €2.6 million per season, with official confirmation from both clubs expected on Thursday evening. The deal is also likely to see Juventus winger Marco Marchionni - who has four caps for Italy - join Fiorentina, with the Turin outfit paying an additional €4 million to retain the player's ownership.

Melo has made 29 league appearances for la Viola since arriving from Spanish side Almeria a year ago. He was part of the Brazil side that successfully defended their Confederations Cup crown with victory against USA, having netted for the Samba Boys against the same opposition in the group phase of the competition.

The news will disappoint Arsenal fans and manager Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman, eager to add some steel to his side ahead of the new Premiershit campaign, was believed to be a keen admirer of the midfield enforcer.
