The Grifoni have agreed a €5.5m transfer fee with the Bianconeri for the 22-year-old defender.

After weeks of discussions, Genoa and Juventus have reached an agreement to share the services of Italy Under-21 defender Domenico Criscito, according to Calciomercato.it.

Criscito had been on loan at Marassi since January 2008 and Genoa have opted to take up their option to make the move permanent for a fee in the region of €5.5million.

A deal was struck this morning and an official announcement is expected over the next few hours.

The rumours have been confirmed by the player’s agent, Sandro Gedda, who had earlier revealed Genoa were keen to retain the services of the Neapolitan.

Well this was always likely with Criscito, we were in a tough position...
Who wouldnt want this guy...

But maybe we can use our situation with Palladino to our advantage to buy back the 50%.

I think this was one deal that Secco screwed up back in January(i believe Jan of 08)

We had already bought 50% of Criscito when we were in B, and now if we want him we'll have to buy 50% of him again....Genoa can get rich making money off of us buying back 50% of the same player

Hopefully Palladino has an outstanding season so we can use him to get Criscito back next year.

I quite agree, Morra.

Defenders are definitely our main priority, no doubt about it. But we do need a deep-lying playmaker to be do well in the CL next season, or be considered favorites for the Scudetto. A Marchisio-Zanetti-Sissoko or a Marchisio-Sissoko-Camoranesi midfield doesn't really fill me with too much confidence about our chances of even reaching the CL quarterfinals.
