Conte snubs Juve for Bari
Antonio Conte will not sit on the Juventus bench next season, as he has renewed his contract with Bari this evening.
The Coach was the hot favourite to take over in Turin, where he spent eight years as a player, after taking Bari to promotion.
However, he has been in talks with his current club and opted to remain at the Stadio San Nicola for what will be his debut Serie A campaign.
This suggests Juventus will choose from Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc - who has already stated he wants to lead France - and current caretaker manager Ciro Ferrara.
Now Bari are looking to the future and already working on the transfer market with reported bids for Bernardo Corradi, Mirko Savini and Alessandro Rosina.
Corradi will leave Reggina following their relegation and had been very close to agreeing a move to Udinese, but that could change if Bari intervene.
Palermo’s 30-year-old defender Savini is the more approachable alternative to Juventus full-back Paolo De Ceglie.
Rosina is not eager to remain at Torino after they dropped down to Serie B and could abandon the Granata.
The creative midfielder has always struggled for consistency in the top flight and has difficulty fitting into the tactics of many Coaches, but Conte feels he can kick-start Rosinaldo’s career.
