I was surprised to read that Ranieri is the first Juventus coach for 40 years to be sacked.
I thought Gigi Maifredi had been sacked in 1991. He only lasted a year and did not exactly cover himself in glory...I remember well, Juve playing Barcelona in the Delle Alpi having lost 1-0 in the Nou Camp...Roby Baggio got one goal but couldn't get the second. We knew then Maifredi's days were numbered!
Dino Zoff too...His Juve won the Uefa Cup and I remember Zoff, clearly disappointed, being interviewed and asking "What do they want" meaning "what more" when he was shown the door! I still say another year and Zoff could've made a difference. Unlike Maifredi, he would've taken full advantage of having a player like Baggio at his disposal!

The New Juventus Coach... Felipe Scolari?
Reports coming from Brazil are suggesting that the former Chelsea mentor could be the one leading the Bianconeri next season following Ranieri's sacking.
The Old Lady could be led by a Brazilian coach next season, according to the speculation coming from the South American nation in the past few hours.
In fact, according to Tuttosport, the Brazilian newspaper and television reports are stating with a sense of certainty that Luiz Felipe Scolari will become the new Juventus coach this summer.
Despite their conviction, it is still too early to judge whether these reports are true or just fabricated rumours, as in Italy the main candidate is Ciro Ferrara, who could emulate Pep Guardiola by leading his former team next season.
The other main candidates in the race for this prestigious post are Bari's Antonio Conte and Roma's Luciano Spalletti. Both of them are unsure whether they will remain at the helm of their respective clubs next season, and will most likely not refuse the Bianconeri's bench if it is offered to them.
A lot will depend on how well Ferrara will do in these final two matches, but what is certain is that Genoa’s coach Gian Piero Gasperini is not completely out of the race for this post.
