Secco Strikes Initial Van Der Vaart Agreement

Juventus sports director Alessio Secco has come to an initial agreement with Rafael van der Vaart’s representatives about signing the Dutch star, according to Tuttosport.

Secco was in Germany yesterday and after a series of discussions, he received some positive responses about the possibility of bringing van der Vaart to Turin at the end of the season.

The transfer director, who has received some stinging criticism due to some previous disastrous signings, is now set to open negotiations with the playmaker’s club, Hamburg, over a transfer fee.

Van der vaart, who has scored nine league goals this season, is certain to leave the Bundesliga in the summer as he has a clause in his contract that allows him to be sold for just €1m at the end of the 2008/09 campaign.

Juventus are in desperate need of a creative centre midfielder and are set to spend the bulk of their summer transfer budget on a player in this position.

Diego

The Gazzetta dello Sport claimed yesterday that Secco was in Germany to negotiate a deal to sign Werder Bremen star Diego, particularly after Ranieri suggested that Van der Vaart would not be arriving at the club.

Despite the conflicting reports it certainly seems that van der Vaart and Diego are both still Juve’s top transfer options for the summer.

Lucchini

In other transfer news there are reports that Juve are lining up a bid for Sampdoria defender Stefano Lucchini.

The 27-year-old has impressed for the port club this season, since signing from Empoli in the summer.

Juve are in dire need of strengthening their backline, as with Giorgio Chiellini, Jonathan Zebina and Jorge Andrade injured, and Domenico Criscito being sent out on loan by Secco, they currently have just Nicola Legrottaglie as a natural centre-back option.

Sissoko: I Will Sign For Juve In Days

Momo Sissoko has confirmed that he will almost certainly sign for Juventus within a few days.

The Malian international has been strongly associated with the Bianconeri for several weeks now, with the only question seemingly being whether he would arrive in Turin this month or in June.

Juve are desperate to bring in a centre midfielder after the disastrous summer signings of Tiago Mendes and Sergio Almiron for a combined €22m.

Juve & Lyon Agree Boumsong Move - Report

Juventus defender Jean-Alain Boumsong is just hours away from joining Lyon on loan, according to reports in Italy.

This morning the Bianconeri and Lyon reached an agreement over the Frenchman, which will see him complete a loan move until the end of the season, with an option to then make the transfer permanent.

Boumsong signed for Juventus in the summer of 2006 for just under €5m and was a regular in their Serie B promotion campaign last season.

However this term he has barely featured due to injury and Coach Claudio Ranieri clearly feels he is not up to the level of the Old Lady.

Boumsong originally left the French league in 2004 when he joined Rangers from Auxerre. From there he moved on to Newcastle, where he endured a miserable 18 months.

The 28-year-old was infamous for his error-prone centre-back partnership with Titus Bramble, which saw the pair nicknamed ‘The Chuckle Brothers’ after the slapstick, disaster-ridden British television comedy duo.

With Boumsong on the move it seems inevitable that Juventus will be forced to make a foray into the transfer market to sign at least one, if not two central defenders.

With Giorgio Chiellini, Jonathan Zebina and Jorge Andrade injured, and Domenico Criscito loaned out, the Bianconeri only have one natural centre back option (Nicola Legrottaglie) currently available in their first team squad.

Bremen Tell Juve: You’re Not Signing Diego

Werder Bremen director of sport Klaus Allofs has told Juventus to scrap any intention they may have of trying to sign their star man Diego.

The Bianconeri are in desperate need of a creative centre midfielder, and Brazilian star Diego is known to be towards the top of their most wanted list.

Yesterday the Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Juve sports director Alessio Secco had been in Germany trying to negotiate a deal to bring Diego to Turin in the summer.

Bremen were reported to have told Secco that they want €25m for the playmaker, with Juve only willing to pay €20m.

However Bremen director of sport, and former Germany international star Klaus Allofs has rubbished the speculation and has categorically stated that the club will not be selling their prized asset.

"Juventus has not submitted any offer, but in any case we do not have the slightest intention whatsoever to discuss a transfer of Diego, not with Juventus nor with any other team," Allofs raged.

Following these declarations Juventus may now scrap all plans to sign Diego, and concentrate their efforts on Hamburg star Rafael van der Vaart.

The Dutchman will certainly be available at the end of the season as he has a clause in his contract that allows him to be sold for just €1m in the summer of 2009.

Il suo trasferimento al Lione è ormai cosa fatta, ma Jean-Alain Boumsong (28 ) ha voluto congedarsi dalla Juventus segnando un gol importante per i bianconeri: "Amo que­sta maglia - ha detto Boumsong - e amo la Juve. Ho dato tutto per la squadra e sono un po' triste. La vita è strana, se un giorno i bianco­neri dovessero chiedermi di tornare, lo farò volentieri. Per me adesso inizierà una nuova vita, ho bisogno di gio­care. Nessun rimpianto, per­ché di occasioni ne ho avute poche da quando è cambiato l'allenatore. Il centrocampista lascia la Juventus con la formula del prestito.

La notizia era nell'aria da giorni ma ora è ufficiale. Sergio Bernardo Almiron lascia la Juventus dopo soli sei mesi e passa alla società francese del Monaco con la formula del prestito.


Il centrocampista argentino, che indosserà la maglia numero 8, resterà nel Principato fino al termine della stagione. Questa mattina ha conosciuto il nuovo tecnico ed i compagni di squadra, ed ha già svolto il suo primo allenamento. Ad aver annunciato la positiva conclusione della trattativa è stata la stessa società transalpina.
