Una brutta notizia per Claudio Ranieri e per tutta la Juventus. David Trezeguet dovràessere sottoposto ad intervento chirurgico per risolvere il problema al tendine rotuleo destro. Un fastidio che ha tormentato l’attaccante francese per tutto l’inizio di questa stagione e che si è riacutizzato al termine della gara di Champions League di mercoledì contro lo Zenit.
La decisione è stata presa dopo gli ultimi accertamenti strumentali e al consulto specialistico a cui il giocatore è stato sottoposto. I tempi e le modalitàdi intervento saranno comunicati all’inizio della prossima settimana.

Trez goes under the knife
Juventus have confirmed that star marksman David Trezeguet will need surgery for a knee problem.
The French international reported an inflammation in his right knee after Juve's Champions League win over Zenit St Petersburg on Wednesday evening.
Initially it had been hoped that Trez would be able to shrug off the problem with three weeks on the sidelines.
However, the club have now made it clear that the ex-Monaco man will need to go under the knife.

Juve braced for Buffon absence

Juventus' medical team has announced that Gigi Buffon's injury will keep him out for two games.
Buffon had to be substituted at half-time of Juve's win over Cagliari yesterday when he felt a thigh pain as he kicked a clearance.
The Azzurri No 1 was insistent that the problem wasn't serious but the club aren't taking any risks.
An official statement from the Old Lady estimates Buffon's recovery time at 10 days.
That would mean that reserve 'keeper tender Alex Manninger would be handed the gloves for Wednesday's game against Catania and also next Saturday's trip to Sampdoria.
Meanwhile, French international striker David Trezeguet will undergo surgery tomorrow for his knee tendon injury
Trez will be out of action until 2009 with the maximum recovery time set at five months.

Legrottaglie misses Samp trip

Nicola Legrottaglie pulled up during training this afternoon and will be out of Saturday’s game at Sampdoria.
The defender had a muscular problem in today’s session and, according to the Bianconeri medical staff, it is not a serious issue.
However, he will remain in Turin as a precautionary measure so that he can recover in good time for the Champions League tie against BATE Borisov on Tuesday.
Legrottaglie is the latest addition to the injury list for Juve’s trip to Marassi, joining Gigi Buffon, David Trezeguet, Cristiano Zanetti and Jonathan Zebina.
It is likely that Olof Mellberg will step in to replace Legrottaglie in central defence alongside Giorgio Chiellini.
There is some good news for Claudio Ranieri, as Mauro Camoranesi is back from injury.
