Solidity with continuous over-aggressiveness and without any tactical awareness means that this Poulsen will be a burden on the shoulders of his teammates in many of the matches he'll take part in.

And, Anthony, don't you see that the biggest disadvantage in Zdenek is his over-aggressiveness? I haven't noticed till now any comment from you on Poulsen's hostility, despite being one of the most hated players out there because of such a playing style!

First of all, Poulsen is over-aggressive in his challenges, but not in his awareness and positioning. Secondly, being over-aggressive on the backline is suicide... being over-aggressive as a DM is not a big deal and is expected at times. If Poulsen had played back in the good old days he would be known as a tough player... In the modern game, where all players have vaginas and roll on the ground and scream whenever they are touched, he is considered "hostile".

I will let the other teams cry about Poulsen's hostility. I will love it.

Here's a quick mathematical explanation of what we've done thus far this summer in the mercato.

• Players we sold/co-owned thus far are Nocerino (€7.5m), Lanzafame (€5m), Volpato (€4m), Palladino (€4m) & Rizza (€.5m).

• Juventus nearly got €21m from selling/co-owning some players. The figures I mentioned above aren't that accurate except Nocerino's transfer fee, yet they're very close from the correct ones, the difference doesn't exceed €1m.

• On the other hand, we've spent on the market to this moment, Ekdal (€600k), Amauri (€22.6m), Knezevic (€500k) & Poulsen (€9.75m).

• This means that we paid nearly €33m, and according to Ranieri's claim we're going to sign a backup goalkeeper who won't cost us more than €7m maximally. €33m + €7m = €40m.

• All in all, what Juventus' management pumped in the market this summer equal €40m - €21m = €19m.

• Bear in mind that players like Tiago and Almiron haven't been offloaded yet.

Conclusion: Last season we spent nearly double the €19m we've spent this summer. Even though we - Pathetic Juventini - have to accept the fact that our management isn't ambitious and prefers the green pastures to upgrading the team they manage. Finally I have just got one thing to say. I completely agree with Zoff82 who said earlier today on another thread that Juventus have transformed into a huge underdog. I'm no longer nervous or aiming high. Fact is, we someday were amongst Europe's top class, now we're in a lower class.

Now Giovinco, Then Cassano For Juve

Sebastian Giovinco is close to signing a contract extension at Juventus, a five-year deal worth €500k per season. But the Old Lady have also set their sights on another big name for the future: Antonio Cassano.

The 'Atomic Ant' is raring to start the new campaign at the Stadio Olimpico. After years spent on loan at different clubs throughout Italy, the Bianconeri youth product has finally gone back home and is hoping to stay for the long run.

The negotiations over a contract renewal had hit a brick wall over the past weeks. His agent Claudio Pasqualin met with sporting director Alessio Secco last week, but talks stalled over the diminutive player's economic demands.

Now it looks like the parties are about to come to an agreement, with Sebastian ready to put pen to paper on a five-year contract worth €500,000 per year.

However, the Old Lady market gurus are also working towards a potential swoop for Antonio Cassano next year. The temperamental trequartista was so close to landing in Turin in 2001, but Roma beat Juve to the punch.

But the love for 'Talentino' is still intact, and Juve supposedly asked Sampdoria for an option on him, during the talks to transfer Sergio Almiron to Marassi.

Even though the deal for the Argentine collapsed, Juve are still hoping to patch things up with the Blucerchiati to secure Antonio's services next year, but they will face stiff competition from Inter and Milan.

Juve Could Have Bought Hamšík

Napoli’s Slovak starlet Marek Hamšík has been linked with a number of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Juventus, who see the youngster as a worthy heir to Pavel Nedved. It has now emerged that the Bianconeri had their chance to purchase the player over a year ago.

Marek Hamšík has become an idol of sorts in Naples due to his impressive performances for Napoli last season. Indeed the 20-year-old, who scored nine times in 37 appearances for his side, has been turning heads all across Europe and has recently attracted the interest of Juventus.

According to Napoli’s general director, Pierpaolo Marino, the club are not considering any offers for Hamšík at the moment, and indeed the club’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, boldly declared that his midfielder was worth “ten times Iaquintaâ€
