Inter Interested In Promising Brescia Duo
Inter Milan are lining up a swoop for Brescia duo Emiliano Viviano and Marco Zambelli, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri have been much criticised for the lack of Italian players in their squad, and new UEFA rules being enforced next season will force them into some native investment.

In next year’s Champions League, all squads will be required to name four players who grew up in the club’s youth system, as well as another four who are home-grown.



This causes Inter a major problem as the only current Italians in their first-team squad are goalkeepers Francesco Toldo and Paolo Orlandoni, and defender Marco Materazzi. Toldo, who last week turned 36, is also likely to be released in the summer.



Therefore the Nerazzurri are scouring Italy for some home-grown players and it seems the two players to take their attention are Brescia youngsters Emiliano Viviano and Marco Zambelli.



Viviano (pictured above) is a former Italian Under-21 goalkeeper, who represented the Azzurrini in this summer’s European Championships in Holland.



The 22-year-old grew up in the Brescia youth academy before making his debut on loan at Cesena in 2004/05. He has since returned to the Azzurri and is the club’s first choice shot-stopper.



Zambelli is also 22 and plays in defence. Nicknamed the ‘Highlander’, he made his debut for Brescia in 2004/05, however he has suffered a number of injuries since.

Adriano Happy Again, Says Inter Doctor
According to Inter club doctor Franco Combi, Adriano is doing great on his training camp in Brazil.

After almost a month since his last training match with Inter, striker Adriano finally went back to playing with the ball again. He did it yesterday, under the watchful eye of Inter's club doctor Franco Combi, who flew over to San Paolo to check up on the Brazilian's conditions.

On his return to Italy, Combi was left with a good impression, and also made a detailed report of the work done by Adriano so far, under the supervision of five specialists (doctors, physiotherapists, and psychologists).

"It's been a while since I've seen Adriano as happy as he is now," said Combi to Brazilian journalists before leaving for Italy. "He came here weighing 99.3 kilograms, now he's down to 96.4."

However, considering his ideal weight is considered to be around 90 kilos, he still has some work to do. In any case, a sign that the work done is starting to show is that Adriano has today joined the Under 21 team of San Paolo for training.

Contrary to what seemed to be the case initially, Adriano will not accompany his agent Gilmar Rinaldi to Italy next week, and will remain in Brazil until the new year to train. If no new developments ensue from Rinaldi's talks with the club, Adriano is set to join the team again at the Dubai training camp on 2 January.

Indeed, Inter will allow all its players to re-join the team directly at the training camp in Dubai without going back to Milan.

Inter signed Suazo from another Italian side so that doesn't interfere with the amount of non-EU nationals in your squad. I guess this Rivas fella (has he played yet?) was your non-EU signing this season, so I guess that Carvalho would be your next seasons EU-signing.

Fabiano Santacroce, 21enne terzino destro del Brescia, potrebbe essere il primo rinforzo italiano dell’Inter 2008/09. Spostato Zanetti a centrocampo, i nerazzurri, bisognosi di inserire giovani e forti italiani in rosa, hanno individuato nel giovane esterno di Casatenovo, il vice Maicon. Escluso il suo arrivo a gennaio. Il difensore dovrebbe indossare la casacca nerazzurra a partire da giugno.

CSKA deny Carvalho deal

There is confusion in the peninsula, as CSKA Moscow have denied that Inter have signed their Brazilian midfielder Daniel Carvalho.

The deal seemed to have been done yesterday when Nerazzurri director Ernesto Paolillo stressed his satisfaction at the swoop.

However, today the Russian giants have denied that any agreement has been reached.
