Inter will meet Mihajlovic

Inter have called Catania boss Sinisa Mihajlovic and arranged to meet him after the Champions League Final to discuss the prospect of replacing Jose Mourinho.

Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Inter are moving quickly in anticipation of Mourinho leaving San Siro for Real Madrid.

Inter President Massimo Moratti is said to be working on having a new Coach in place by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.

Mihajlovic will meet Inter's directors either in Milan or on the coast in Forte dei Marmi.

Moratti apparently favours Mihajlovic's candidacy because he knows Inter well having played for the club and worked as an assistant to Roberto Mancini.

The Serb's achievements at Catania, his management philosophy and strong personality have also contributed in making him the favourite for the job.

Moratti's only concern is that Mihajlovic might be too close to his former team-mates and therefore unable to not let it cloud his judgement.

He currently has a contract with Catania until 2011, but Il Corriere understands that Inter don't consider it an obstacle and feel they can come to a solution with Pietro Lo Monaco.

FK NO! NO FKN WAY! What, we are going back to the Mancini days after these great two seasons? This is something that worried me. Moratti's main goal for recent times was to win the champions league. If we manage to do this, this weekend is that it. Expectation fulfilled. We got back to the mediocre days and let Juve and Milan close the gap?

MI, Corriere Dello Sport = unreliable Romanista piece of thrash. Also there are no quotes, no nothing to confirm this info.
Certainly we have our preferences (with Capello and Benitez being on top of our list), but if neither of these 2 is available, we'll certainly have to adapt ourselves to someone less important. It's not like there are a huge number of elite managers waiting for our call...

Yeah, except Capello, Benitez and Hiddink there are no other elite managers available. I don't consider Benitez to be elite either. What do you guys think of Rijkaard? I saw his name linked with us today but is he that good a coach? He also has a Milan past.

Nah I don’t believe Rijkaard could be a candidate for this place. Honestly I don’t hold him in high regard. He’s been with Barca, without actually impressing, though he did win a CL. A newbie like Guardiola, immediately made Barca look ten-folds better. Also I believe he doesn’t have anywhere near enough charisma to coach this group. One thing this team needs is someone with ‘balls’ at its helm. Capello is certainly the ideal candidate. Also Hiddink would, but I’m not sure about his current contractual ties with Turkey. Some say he could be available, others say it’s impossible. Mihajlovic is a coach with ‘balls’ but I’m not confident, due to his lack of experience. Benitez doesn’t have the ‘balls’ IMO and Rijkaard is even inferior to him as he is not even a good tactician.
There’s honestly very little choice around.
