Wolfgang Stark to ref Chelsea v Inter

MILAN - German official Wolfgang Stark has been appointed to take charge of Tuesday evening's UEFA Champions League last sixteen return leg between Chelsea and Inter. At Stamford Bridge he will be assisted by Jan-Hendrik Salver and Mike Pickel, with Thorsten KinhÃƒÂ¶fer acting as fourth official.

Stark has refereed Inter in the Champions League on five previous occasions: Inter 0-0 Barcelona (16 September 2009), Manchester United 2-0 Inter (11 March 2009), Valencia 0-0 Inter (22 April 2003), Ajax 2-2 Inter (22 February 2006) and Inter 1-5 Arsenal (25 November 2003).

Lucio the best centre-half on both sides? I dont know how many games you've seen Lucio play, but judging by your comments I believe you've seen few. Lucio has some peaks at times, like the first game against Chelsea, but overall he's had an above average season. He can alternate great performances to extreme blunders and this instability is why I would never chose him for an ideal XI, in this case. Carvalho is simply much more consistent & Samuel is alongside Nesta the best defender in Italy & probably in the world IMO.

I like Samuel too, that is why i listed him and Lucio as being better than Chelsea's first two centre-halfs in the first place. At least we're in agreement that John Terry is down the pecking order. I may not have seen Lucio in too many of your games alright but he has been impressive in the games I have seen, so i'll take your word for it. He has also been impressive for Brazil.

Lucio tends to have these 'moments' in every game where he is completely caught out of position. Its usually left to Samuel to cover his ass when this happens and quite frankly this has led to a goal or two.

The good games are those where he can stay concentrated for the entire game like the one against Chelsea.
