According to the latest report from Tuttosport, the recent meeting between Inter and Napoli for the transfer of Victor Obinna has laid down the foundations for a much bigger deal that could see Nelson Rivas also move to the Partenopei in the coming days.

With the details of Obinna’s move south all but wrapped up, it seems the Azzurri are looking to add the services of Rivas in a co-ownership deal. Such a move would allow president Aurelio De Laurentiis to cash in on Fabiano Santacroce, who has long been on the radar of Ciro Ferrara at Juventus.

As the ongoing negotiations unfold, it appears the Nerazzurri are looking to use Napoli’s double swoop to put themselves in pole position for a future purchase of Marek Hamsik. The Slovakian has long been admired at San Siro, and it is only a matter of time before his ambitions change as he looks to taste regular Champions League football.

With Pierpaolo Marino and De Laurentiis no strangers to a good deal, it seems Napoli would be open to an offer of €20 million for the player who they bought for a quarter of the price just two summers ago.

According to latest reports Maxwell to Barca will be official very soon. Not a big loss IMO as Santon will get more playing time and we also Chivu who can slot in there with ease, not to mention Zanetti. I liked Maxwell though, he is a real classy and stylish left back. Anyway info on the transfer fee?

Brazilian Lucio joins Inter Milan - Bayern

BERLIN, July 16 - Brazil captain Lucio has agreed to join Inter Milan after five years at Bayern Munich, the German club said on Thursday. Lucio, whose contract with Bayern ran until 2010, will sign a three-year deal with the Italian champions, Bayern said on their website www.fcbayern.de.

"The Brazil captain agreed on Thursday to end the contract running until June 30, 2010," Bayern said. "The 31-year-old defender moves with immediate effect to the Italian champions Inter Milan where he will sign a three-year deal."

Bayern said both sides had agreed to keep financial terms secret. Lucio, who was to rejoin Bayern on Thursday after his Confederations Cup participation with Brazil, signed for the Germans in 2004 after a stint with Bayer Leverkusen.

Part of Brazil's 2002 World Cup winning side, he quickly established himself as a rock in Bayern's defence, helping them clinch the Bundesliga and Cup double in 2005, 2006 and 2008. Last season Bayern's backline was less consistent, however, the Bavarians failing to win any silverware.
