I dont like to take into consideration what Presidents or any other club admin says, but one thing seems to be clear enough from that interview..that Sneijder was definately on sale until a couple of days ago. If anyone had any doubts, that interview clearly points out that we needed to sell, and Eto'o has been this year's sacrifice. Why didn't Moratti come out with a statement like that before Anzhi came for Eto'o? Because no one thought that Eto'os sale to Anzhi was actually a plausable idea. Now that this is settled, Moratti brought in a couple of journalists to make this declaration.

Makes sense alright. You're probably better off selling Eto than Sneijder as well, I reckon. As long as you bring in an adequate replacement (although not for the same cost).

I have to agree, I would rather sell Eto'o than Sneijder. A fit and in form Sneijder can make any striker look better and he is younger too. There were also rumors that Eto'o no longer wanted to play on the wing after a superb season last time out playing centrally.

We still need to bring in players though. Moratti stated it will be a great Inter this season but with the current crop of players at our disposal, a great team looks unlikely.

Don't forget that Sneijder can still be sold next year for practically the same amount, whereas Eto'o, given his age, can't.

Lucio makes Inter pledge

Lucio has promised Inter that he’ll continue to make a vital contribution for the club after signing a new contract.

The Brazilian is now tied to the outfit until June 2014 after he was granted a two-year extension to his previous deal.

“I'm happy about the renewal and for the confidence that Inter have shown in me,” the defender told Inter Channel.

“It's a mutual faith and one that I'll pay back – as you'll see on the pitch. I'm really happy."

The former Bayern Munich ace is an untouchable in the side’s starting XI and he’s set to play a key role in boss Gian Piero Gasperini’s 3-4-3 system.

"I cannot wait to begin the season and I'll do my best,” he added. “Personally, I feel great. I'm in form and I hope to be that way for the whole season."

I hope that at least one or two of these kids we've been hearing about for months and years can turn usefull to our side. There are Alborno, Crisetig, Obi, Longo, Bessa, Caldirola...all have quite some expectations on them (mainly from us fans, rather than the club). I know it's useful for us to get these guys for free and then sell them or include them in some deals...but it's always a little special to have a primavera player become a regular with the senior side. We had expectations on Santon...but he turned out to be way overhyped for his possibilities (though he surely has technical & physical qualities).

I don't know about Milan, but Juve only used youngsters because they didn't have other senior players available.

lomba, look where all that investing in youth and prospect has gotten arsenal.

there is a new trend in football, pedophilia. but ultimately, nobody will win with kids. not now, not ever. or it hasn't been done at least. you just have to look how bad the quality of football in the u21, u20 and u19 championships are to realize that.

the best teams come from a balance of experience and youth. look at juve last season, so many useless [and youthful] acquisitions who really just sucked. inter seems to be going down the same road.

i'm not trying to purposelessly shit on moratti here (i need no reason for that matter), but he's never been that great at making teams and it seems that he's rubbing himself up in this new trend, but it doesn't bode well for inter. which, again, is perfectly fine for me.

What Lomba is saying is true. It's about developing the young players in house like Barca. Arsenal are not example of this. Most of their young players are kids that Wenger picked hence the no success story.
