How are we going to line up in midfield in the Juve game if all the midfielders are fit? The midfield of Vieira, Muntari, Zanetti and Cambiasso looks a bit stale going forward although they did well in the second half of the Palermo game. Even though Muntari did surprise with his ability to actually make precision passes, you can't really see him as an AM so I wonder how Mou will approach the game. I'm certain he'll have one of the DM's almost permanently watching the CB's and to clean shit up but going forward, we look almost one dimensional through Muntari. If he does line up like this though, it will probably need to be Ibra to open them up with a goal or assist for Cruz.

You'd expect Maicon and Maxwell to get forward all they can to push Neved and Cammo back and to get at their wing backs which aren't spectacular at all. Anyway, I suppose we have to wait and see if any of the players get injured during the week.

Judging by last week's comments, I think it wouldn't surprise anyone to see Quaresma on saturday's line up. Personally, I dont want that to happen, but on the other hand, I'm a little afraid that if we use Palermo's line up, we'd end up beaten on the flanks. None of our midfielders actually occupy the wide spaces, whereas Juve rely on that often. We cant simply concentrate our efforts in the middle. I think Muntari will be there to block Tiago or Sissoko from starting their actions from deep inside their own area. If we play Vieira & Zanetti a little wider, it should be ok, but that is not really their natural positions, and we cant have a week training on this because of the International call ups. Maybe we should already assume that Vieira will return injured too..
Cambiasso should be doing the DM duties infront of what might be a rather fragile defence with Burdisso/Materazzi in there. Surely, I hope Mou doesnt opt for a 4-3-3 in this match, since we'd get killed in the midfield.

I'm really worried about whoever is going to partner Samuel; I would hope it's Matrix simply because of Burdisso being so shite. Matrix isn't really that much better although he does have the ability to actually play a stellar game while Burdisso doesn't even have the ability to play an average game. Also, Matrix would be a good match for Amauri while Samuel can take DP with Cambiasso covering.

The only benefit of playing Quaresma on one of the flanks is that in this game, there will be a lot more space for him to work in since Nedved and Cammo will be pushing forward instead of the teams we have played against who just have 10 men behind the ball. With a bit more freedom, you can see him causing them some trouble but even then, I would much rather Mancini start.

Zanetti---Cambiasso---Muntari---Mancini looks to be a better balanced midfield but Vieira's put in some decent performances since he's been back. Also, Zanetti wouldn't need to get forward on the right since Maicon is already our main weapon down that side. Whatever the case, I think the best move has already been made by pairing Ibra with Cruz as that's easily our most dangerous strike force and they fit eachother perfectly.

If Inter play the same narrow 4-4-2 as against Palermo, it will play into Juve's hands.

The centre of Juve's defence is strong, but defending in wide areas is a weakness. Did you see how easily Genoa got down the sides in the last game?

I will be far more confident of Juve taking something from the game if Inter play the same system as agaisnt Palermo, rather than Mourinho playing his traditional 4-3-3.

The 4-3-3 exploits us on the wings because Maicon and Maxwell get forward alot and if the three midfielders don't shift to the ball-side quickly enough, we're easily penetrated. The best way would be to play a flat 4 that keeps Nedved and Cammo in check while Cambiasso keeps an eye on DP from the DM position. I'm not that worried about Amauri creating a goal as he's most dangerous when the service is there so if we shut down the wings and keep DP somewhere near check, it would go a long way to us winning the game. Mourinho has not used the 4-3-3 in our last 3 league games which we've all won so we might've seen a permanent change in the way he's approaching the league and our performances have been 10x better with the 4-4-2.

Still, it will most likely be a 50-50 match with certain incidents deciding the game as I can't see any team running riot in terms of dominating.

I agree that the teams are pretty evenly matched. Unless there is a major defensive error by either side, this game is going to be The Waterboy v Ibrahimovic.

Both players basically carry their team's attack and are involved in the vast majority of goals scored by either side.
