Well it's not like we have to bloody save the Italian's co-efficient each and every year. We saved it last year, we beat a German team in the previous round this year. It's about bloody time the others get moving and do something about it themselves.
About the game....I dont have much to say. It was expected, I suppose. We had to attack and considering our defensive record this year, it was pretty obvious we would get hit easily.

You didn't really do justice to the Italian co-efficients in your first few years in the CL as being scudetto 'winners'. Its also quite hard for a club like Roma to realistically expect to be successful and go far in the competition when we've had a non-existent budget and were incapable of building a squad for such a competition. But maybe that will change going forward, and also with the likes of Milan and Napoli getting stronger.

If Italians aren't capable of competing, than it is right to lose their spot. And Milan will most probably be Champions this year, yet they didn't help the co-efficient much either. Inter are currently too hated in Italy to find any pride in achieving something for others.

I don't think its because they aren't capable of competing – if you compare the records of Serie A sides to da Bundesliga sides in the CL over the last few years I think we'd certainly be on top – its more because the co-efficients are based upon the results of the Europa League as well. Its a nonsense way to do it, but thats the way it is, and the sooner Italian sides take that competition more seriously the better.

Yes, and that is why it's about time that other Italian clubs start to fend for themselves in Europe rather than hoping that others do it in their place. But anyway, this issue always comes up when it's convenient. Most Italian supporters were over the moon yesterday and last week, seeing us get a hammering, only to then start moaning about the co-efficient. I'm not speaking about you Shield, but it's a general issue. Co-efficients are just something I dont care about. We'll have to do our best for our own's sake...others can suit themselves and improve.

Pandev has Inter future

Goran Pandev will still be at Inter next season even if the club sign Carlos Tevez, says the striker’s agent.

Pandev’s future has been in some doubt after a difficult campaign in front of goal for the Nerazzurri.

It has been suggested that the former Lazio player could be sacrificed as part of Inter’s summer changes, but Carlo Pallavicino thinks that won’t happen.

“I’m convinced that Pandev will be at Inter next season,” he told Sky Sport 24. “They have yet to admire his true quality.

“I hope that he can soon play alongside Carlos Tevez.”

The Manchester City striker is being named as a summer transfer objective for the Italian giants who are set to make some changes.

“The fact that Inter need rebuilding is clear to everybody, but I don’t know how long it will take,” added Pallavicino.

“I think Leonardo will stay as Coach because there is a good feeling with President Massimo Moratti.

“There is a need for time and patience, but the club must understand that a lot of players have lost their motivation.”

A new era at Inter will begin with the summer signing of Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez, reports the Corriere dello Sport.

The Argentine has been linked with the Nerazzurri in recent weeks and the Rome-based daily today leads with the story.

Inter are planning to reshape themselves over the summer after losing their domestic dominance and being embarrassed by Schalke in the Champions League.

Tevez was paired with the San Siro giants earlier this month, but his presence in the peninsula has kick-started the rumour mill.

Out of this weekend’s FA Cup semi-final against former club Manchester United through injury, Tevez has been in Italy this week.

The forward was spotted in a Milan restaurant last night which has only intensified whispers of a possible summer move.

However, it remains to be seen whether City are willing to let him go and, if they do, how much he would cost President Massimo Moratti.

Time and time again we concede goals like this and Leonardo never learns. Where was Stankovic when he needs to cover the run of the full back. First of all I don't understand why he plays on the left of midfield and Kharja plays a trequartista. It fits neither of them. Kharja needs to play on the left and provide the width (like he did in the second half against Chievo) because Chivu is useless and provides no width whatsoever. Stankovic is more suited to playing behind the strikers, in a more central position as he is good with long range efforts and he drifts out of position all the time playing on the left.

It is so irritating to watch them play. You have the right players but you play them out of position and they have no clue on what they are doing. I rather watch the El Clasico.

I totally agree, it is frustrating Frank. It looks like we were on a high when Leo signed up and we were riding on his honeymoon period. Now that is over we are seeing what little potential we have under him. After this loss and the deficit 8 points, only now I have given up on us getting the scudetto this season. I just hope we can get the coppa and second place as consolation.

Branca: 'Leo makes his decisions'

Inter director Marco Branca confirmed Douglas Maicon and Thiago Motta were dropped. “The Coach has the right to make his decisions.”
The two stars did not even make the trip to Parma for tonight’s Serie A game despite suffering no injury problems.

“Leaving out Motta and Maicon is simply a technical decision. Wesley Sneijder is in the squad and is on the bench again due to a technical decision,” director Branca told Sky Sport Italia.

“The Coach has the right to make the decisions that he believes are right.”

It was reported the pair had not put in enough effort during training after the midweek Champions League exit to Schalke 04.

“We do not risk any psychological setback from that elimination. It’s true we’re not in a particularly strong period of form, but we know how to face this game.

“I absolutely do not regret our summer transfer strategy, as we could not predict injuries would keep Walter Samuel and Diego Milito out for such a long time. We did what we had to and all that we could at that time.”

There are reports Jose Mourinho is preparing a sensational return to Inter – after enrolling his children in a school near the training ground.

The Coach has never disguised his on-going affection for the Nerazzurri and this week hailed Massimo Moratti as “an incredible man who shows the football world what a President should be.”

There are reports of problems at Real Madrid and his refusal to speak to journalists ahead of the Barcelona game, prompting most of the media to walk out in protest.

Last night’s 1-1 draw made it very unlikely Real will be able to catch Barcelona in La Liga, although these sides face off again in the Champions League semi-final.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Mourinho has registered his children with a school in Lugano, the same international institute that they attended while he was manager of Inter.

The school is within 40km of the Appiano Gentile training ground and only half an hour away by car.

Considering Inter abdicated the Scudetto and Champions League this week with defeats to Parma and Schalke, Leonardo’s future on the bench looks very uncertain.

The Gazzetta suggests Mourinho will return as Coach with Leo taking a directorial role.

I don't think its going to happen anytime soon. He left for Madrid because he wanted to win the league in Spain rounding up the big trio. Its not going to happen this season. Moreover, he has no reason to leave Madrid. With FFP coming into play, Spain is where the money is.

He also mentioned that he wants to become the first manager to win the CL with three different clubs. Coming back to Inter is not going to help that. IMO, he will stay in Madrid until the ManUre position becomes vacant and he will take over from Ferguson.

Eto’o out of Coppa semi

Samuel Eto’o has been left out of the Inter squad for their Coppa Italia semi-final because of injury.

The Cameroon international, arguably the Nerazzurri’s best player this term, hasn’t been named in the party for Tuesday’s Coppa Italia tie at Roma.

The former Barcelona player picked up an ankle problem in the shock 2-0 loss at Parma over the weekend which has ruled him out of contention.

Thankfully for Beneamata boss Leonardo, Diego Milito is nearing full fitness after his recent struggles with injury.

He is one of three strikers named in the squad who could replace Eto’o at the Stadio Olimpico – the others are Giampaolo Pazzini and Goran Pandev.

Douglas Maicon and Thiago Motta return to the fold after they were dropped for the Serie A game on Saturday night.

Inter squad – Goalkeepers: 1 Julio Cesar, 12 Luca Castellazzi, 21 Paolo Orlandoni.

I honestly doubt Mourinho will ever coach Inter again. I keep thinking of him as too proud to track back on his claims. Coming back to Inter would only hinder his reputation...and we all know how important his reputation is for him..right?

Much needed clearout? Lol, you won the treble just last season. I'd hardly say you need a clearout, just a few new signings maybe.

I don't think we will need a major clearout but we will definitely need players who will go straight into the starting 11. If you are watching the match now you can see that Maicon seems to be playing without any motivation, poor Milito has clearly lost that yard of pace and sharpness that made him such a danger last season. We need to replace them with younger players. Not to mention we need a good midfielder. Our subs are getting old as well, Cordoba and Matrix for instance. These players have given a lot for us and without the likes of Maicon and Milito we couldn't have even dreamed of a treble but if we are to get some money out of them then its now or never.

PS : I really like Milito a lot and as a fan I don't want him to leave. I am hoping this dip in form is because of an injury-ridden season and that he can get back to his best next season.
