Scudetto Rivals? None - Chivu

Inter defender Cristian Chivu is so confident of winning the Scudetto this term that he believes his side have no rivals for the title as he looks ahead to the game against Roma on Sunday...

Inter are joint top of Serie A alongside Lazio and Udinese, with Roma lagging six points behind.

Chivu spent four years at Roma but he has written off their Scudetto chances as he believes there is only one winner.

"Our biggest rivals? Ourselves, just like last year. If we play like we are capable then we are not afraid of any team," said Chivu.

"Roma? I spent four years there and it's always good going back. It was an important time in my career there and the people gave me so much.

"Sensi? He took me to Roma and he was a great person. Roma's success is also down to him and it is a shame he is no longer with us.

"I always hear from my old team mates there and we joke around. I don't know if they are still annoyed from last season but we won the Scudetto fair and square."

Inter will all but end Roma's Scudetto ambition if they win in Sunday night's grudge match.

Inter Keeper Sets Brazilian Record

Goalkeeper Julio Cesar has achieved a record-breaking number of consecutive minutes in the Brazil net without conceding a goal.

Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar has written his name in the history books of Brazil's national team. The shot-stopper has been in impressive form over the last few seasons for the Nerazzurri, keeping Francesco Toldo on the bench and acting as a reassuring figure for the Beneamata defence. Julio Cesar was a fundamental part of Inter's Scudetto success last season.

The 29-year-old has transferred his club form to his country, and was rewarded with a stunning achievement during Brazil's 0-0 draw with Colombia on Wednesday night. Julio Cesar remained unbeaten between the sticks during Brazil's games against Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Venezuela and Colombia and has now played a total of 492 minutes without conceding a goal.

The keeper has not let in a single goal since Salvador Cabanas scored in the 49th minute of Brazil's shock 2-0 defeat against Paraguay on June 15. This impressive record has seen the Inter star overtake great ex-Parma and 1994 World Cup winning number one Claudio Taffarel, who was unbeaten for 491 minutes.

Commenting on the feat, the Inter man said, Ã¢â‚¬Å“I don't think about the record. The important thing is winning, whether or not we concede a goal. However, I am proud to have overtaken one of the idols of my childhood.Ã¢â‚¬

Mancini Looking Forward To Roma Clash

Inter midfielder Amantino Mancini will be facing his former team Roma this weekend for the first time since his transfer to San Siro in the summer.

Mancini knows that the atmosphere at the Olimpico stadium of Rome will not be the most welcoming for him following his move to the Nerazzurri, but he does not want these things to distract him from the game against the Giallorossi.

"There will be some whistling towards me, but that's part of the game," affirmed the Inter winger to Sky. "However, the important thing is to maintain the tranquillity and to prove our worth."

Mancini is hoping that Inter can beat Roma in order to extend their lead over their opponents whom he still considers competitive enough for the league title.

"Our morale is very good," he explained. "I'm happy as Inter is first in the standings, we have a great team and we are facing another strong one like Roma.

"I know the team well, so I hope that we play a good game on Sunday. Roma are a direct competitor as they are a team which is fighting for the Scudetto, and therefore if we win there it will be very important."

Inter midfielder Sulley Muntari has described Roma coach Luciano Spalletti as a father figure but he is ready to do his best to beat him...

The two Scudetto challengers lock horns in the game of the weekend on Sunday night and the Giallorossi are desperate for points.

Muntari played for Spalletti at Udinese and, although he has high regards for his former coach, the midfielder insists there will be no love lost on the pitch.

"Spalletti is like a father to me but I have to beat him," said Muntari.

"I want to thank him because he showed me trust and I remember he used to call me 'Chiquita' like the bananas, I never knew why.

"Roma? They will give everything against us and the second string players want to show their worth with so many injuries. However, we will play to win."

Inter are currently six points ahead of Roma and they can end the Giallorossi's Scudetto hopes if they win at the Stadio Olimpico. Muntari is likely to start in Mourinho's four man midfield.
