Deco To Inter Just Hours Away
According to reports in Italy, Inter Milan are just hours away from making Deco the first signing of Jose Mourinho’s reign at San Siro.

Mourinho only took charge of the Nerazzurri a week ago, but he has already moved swiftly in the transfer market.

An attacking centre midfielder was always going to be the main priority for Inter this summer, and it seems they are close to solving the problem by capturing Barcelona star Deco.

The 30-year-old had a disappointing season at Camp Nou and will definitely leave the club. Latest reports in Italy say that Inter have agreed to pay Barca between 12 and 13 million Euros, with Deco signing a three year contract worth five million Euros per season.

Deco, who is said to be just days or even hours away from completing the move, will wear the number 20 shirt and will renew his relationship with his former Porto coach Mourinho.

The playmaker is currently on show at this summer’s European Championships for his adopted country Portugal.

He signed for Barcelona from Porto in 2004 in a cash plus player deal involving Ricardo Quaresma, and has won two La Liga titles and one Champions League.

Deals are also in the offing to bring Abdoullay Konko from Genoa in a co-ownership deal worth over £2m in partial exchange for the loan of Nelson Rivas.

Luiz Felipe Scolari admits that he would have no problem settling into a job in a different country.

The Portugal boss, who is out of contract after Euro 2008, has been strongly linked with the vacant managerial position at Chelsea.

The Blues are reported to have already contacted his current employers in regards to his availability and are keen to get a new man in place as soon as possible.

The Premiershit outfit have already missed out on Mark Hughes, who joined Manchester City, and were rebuffed in their attempts to lure Carlo Ancelotti from Serie A giants Milan.

World Cup winner Scolari would appear to be of the calibre required by Roman Abramovich to fill the void at Stamford Bridge and, despite refusing to admit an interest in a switch to West London, the Brazilian did insinuate that he would be open to the prospect.

"I have a contract with the Portuguese Football Federation which I will fulfil and we will see what happens at the end of that," said Scolari.

"I will see what happens, it would be difficult to leave Portugal, if I have to do it, but I am professional and I could live in another country."

Recently departed Internazionale coach Roberto Mancini, ex-Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard and Russia chief Guus Hiddink are all still in the frame for the Chelsea job, but Scolari is thought to be top of the Blues' wish-list

Mancini Very Close To Inter Move

Roma winger Amantino Mancini is said to be very close to tying up his move to Inter Milan following the latest set of talks between the two clubs.

Mancini is certain to leave the Giallorossi this summer as his contract runs out in 2009, and he has refused to sign a fresh deal.

Yesterday Roma director Daniele Prade and Inter’s Marco Branca held transfer talks during which they discussed the futures of both Mancini and young midfielder Alberto Aquilani.

It is reported that while Prade made it perfectly clear that Aquilani will not be sold at any price, but he did say that Mancini was available for €15m.

Inter are trying to get this price lowered by offering full ownership rights to young defender Marco Andreolli, but Roma would prefer half of Portuguese midfielder Pele’s contract.

It is not believed that these small details will provide too many problems, and the Nerazzurri are set to offer Mancini a four-year contract worth just under €4m a year.

Roma would look to replace Mancini by signing Udinese star Antonio Di Natale.

Mancini is a good buy. When on song, he's absolutely devastating and will provide pace and creativity down the left/right. On my list of wingers Inter should buy this summer, he was number 2 and the number one is obviously Quaresma who we're most likely still after. If we manage to buy the 2, our transfer campaign would already be 9/10 IMO.

Andreolli has barely even played a game for Roma due to the injuries he's recieved. There's no way he's better then any of our CB's at the moment so I'm not really fazed by his departure.

Giving Pele away is a stupid move. This kid clearly has the talent and potential to replace Vieira in the midfield and he'll be needed due to the amount of times Vieira is on the injury list. We should just be offering Suazo in a straight sway deal which is more then enough.

Did you watch the Portugal game vs Turkey briz? Deco played a great game and his passing was impeccable on the night. Like you, I would much rather Quaresma and Aqua but if we have to settle for Mancini and Deco then I won't be too disappointed considering they're players we do need. We don't have a creative mid or a decent right winger at the moment so they'll be welcome additions.

We can't get Aqua cause Roma won't sell and I don't think we can do anything about it to be honest. However, Quaresma is still available and we need to move quickly. If Stankovic leaves, who's going to play on the left wing? We don't have a natural left winger on the team which could mean 1. We're going to buy Quaresma and play him on the left or 2. Mourinho won't use wingers which doesn't make sense as we're very close to getting Mancini.

Maybe Mourinho is planning something along these lines. It's just too hard to tell at the moment as we won't be able to wrap up a deal for any player that's at the Euro's until they get back.

Mou recently stated that wingers are very important so i don't see a inter side without wingers under him....I am sure he will play with wingers....

I have to agree with dejan,deco will brilliant against turkey....He did all the passing in the game while ronaldo did nothing....He is 30 and he is getting no younger buy he is very skillful and can offer the best for atleast another 3 yrs IMO....Aquliani would have been great but i would happy if we get deco....

Mancini would be a good buy....He has pace,flair and trickery...Most importantly can play on either flank.....I am still hoping that we would get quaresma as well.....How good would it be with quaresma on th left and mancini on the right....

Serie A would suit Deco very well, Frank. He'll have time on the ball and won't need to rely on his pace so much which he still has anyway. Figo profited greatly from this as his technique alone was more then enough for him to dominate down the right hand side. But, like you say, he's 30 and we can get roughly 4 more years of service from him. But for some reason, I don't think Mourinho has 4 years to win the CL so he's probably going for quick results.

Burdisso Not For Sale - Branca
Inter's transfer guru Marco Branca has denied they are looking to offload defender Nicolas Burdisso, who is being courted by Fiorentina.

Argentinean players have always done well with Fiorentina, who are now looking to add Inter defender Nicolas Burdisso to their Albiceleste contingent, which already includes Pablo Osvaldo and Mario Santana.

However, according to Inter manager Marco Branca the player is still considered important for the squad. There were rumours that the versatile but mistake-prone defender would be on his way out after coach Jose Mourinho's arrival, but apparently his mistakes in the matches against Juventus and Liverfekkin'wankscum, among others, have been forgiven.

"I haven't spoken to [Fiorentina manager Pantaleo] Corvino for a few days, but I can confirm he was interested in Burdisso a while ago," said Branca. "But for us he is a fundamental player, so it will be difficult to begin a negotiation for his transfer."

Briz as dejan says mou has no time to develop a player and win a CL with them....He needs immediate solutions and thats why he is looking for players whom he can rely on....players like deco,lampard,carvalho etc.....He knows what these players can offer as he has worked well with them and thats the reason he is looking at bringing them in....

I don't think deco had many injuries last season....Toure was preferred to him in midfield.....Anyway i think deco will head to chelsea now as scolari has signed for them....
