Inter-Juventus, scintille tra Mourinho e Ranieri

Il derby d'Italia non si ferma mai. Anche in questo periodo, dedicato a preparazione ed amichevoli, la rivalità e le polemiche tra le due squadre che da sempre dividono il calcio italiano non si è fatta attendere.
L'episodio scatenante è avvenuto ieri, quando dopo la pesante sconfitta subita con l'Amburgo, il tecnico Ranieri, analizzando la prestazione della sua compagine, si era lasciato andare ad un commento non proprio lusinghiero nei confronti del neo allenatore neroazzurro: " Non temo contraccolpi psicologici dopo questo 3-0. Non sono come Mourinho e non devo vincere per essere sicuro di quello che faccio. In certe situazioni penso che qualche schiaffo faccia bene".
Come da copione, immediata e 'velenosa' è arrivata la risposta del tecnico lusitano: "Sono in Italia per lavorare e non per fare guerra di parole. E sono qui per fare tutto il meglio che posso fare per l'Inter, quindi voglio veramente dimenticare il lavoro degli altri. Ma Claudio Ranieri ha ragione in quello che dice, io sono una persona molto esigente con me stesso, ho bisogno di vincere per essere felice, per avere la sicurezza che tutte le cose stiano andando bene, anche per questo ho vinto tante cose nella mia carriera. Lui, per avere la sua mentalità, ha detto che non ha bisogno di vincere. Lui, forse avendo questa mentalità, proprio per questo a quasi 60 anni ha vinto una Supercoppa, una piccola coppa. Non ha mai vinto trofei importanti. Forse ha bisogno di cambiare la sua mentalità, ma forse è troppo vecchio per farlo".

BUAHAHAHAAHAHAHA. Ranieri seriously needs to STFU. If he wants a verbal war with Mourinho, I doubt he'll ever be anywhere near to the top.
For anyone who doesnt understand Italian, yesterday Ranieri after the 3-0 hammering against almighty Hamburg, declared 'I dont fear any psycological side-effects after this loss. I am not like Mourinho and I dont need to win in order to know I'm heading in the right direction. On certain episodes, its healthy to receive a slap every now and then.'

Mourinho's reply - ' I am in Italy to coach not to make a war of words. Mr. Ranieri is right in what he says, I need to win in order to be satisfied and happy. That is why I have won a lot in my carreer. He said that there's no need to win, maybe that's why he's already in his 60's and has only won a supercoppa..which is a very little trophy. He never won any big trophy. MAybe he needs to change his mentality, but perhaps he's too old for that.......'

APPIANO GENTILE - José Mourinho has named a 31-player squad for the Nerazzurri's pre-season tour of Europe.

Inter face Bayern Munich in the Franz Beckenbauer Cup /12th Pirelli Trophy on Tuesday and then fly to Holland for two days of training sessions and the LG Amsterdam tournament games against Seville (8 August) and Ajax (9 August).

The Portuguese coach has called up all his players except Patrick Vieira, who will undergo a week of individual sessions after injuring his left thigh.

Mourinho's squad for Europe tour:

A lot has been made of Inter’s relative lack of activity in the transfer market, but James Horncastle believes the return of Adriano could be priceless

Fans of Greek side PAOK were surprised earlier this week when the club’s website reported the signature of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Unable to contain their excitement, supporters thronged outside the club’s ground, waiting expectantly for the new striker to be unveiled. Sooner or later, reality began to set in.

Could the Thessaloniki outfit really attract Ibracadabra, a candidate for the World Player of the Year award? Doubts intensified when the club’s website reported Ibrahimovic came from Atalanta for a modest fee. Sure enough, a Bosnian attacker who grew up in Sweden plays there. The Dea’s Nerazzurro strip muddied the waters even further. Then it dawned on them. PAOK had bought Zlatan Muslimovic not Ibrahimovic.

The story begs the question though – how would Inter fare if Ibra were sold? The Swede’s injury problems suggest Coach Jose Mourinho will have to cope without him at some stage this season. So who, if anyone, is capable of filling the void left by Zlatan? Read the Italian Press and you’ll discover that all the talk is not of Mario Balotelli or Julio Cruz, but Adriano, Inter’s forgotten phenomenon and enfant terrible.

Few players’ careers have fizzled out quite as quickly as the 26-year-old’s. He was hailed as the prototypical striker of the new millennium back in 2004. Powerfully built with a superhuman shot, La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Fabio Caressa called him the Incredible Hulk. By the time he was 24 he had already scored 119 goals for Italian teams only for a series of personal problems to rob Italy and the world of one of its most exciting prospects.

Having spent last year in Brazil recovering both as a person and footballer, Adriano has become Mourinho’s personal project. The Portuguese wanted Adriano at Chelsea and believes he can get the Brazilian back to his best. As a domineering striker, Adriano fits Mourinho’s ideal more than Ibrahimovic. His former boss at Parma, Arrigo Sacchi, said earlier this week that “Adriano can be the best acquisition of Mourinho’s Interâ€
