well, to win a european cup you not only need the talented players, the leadership and experience, and the coach, but you also need some luck. mourinho didn't have that at chelsea, though they made it deep into the cl every year except once, when they ran into a barca team that was going to win it all in the first round. as long as moratti realizes that luck also plays a role and is patient with mourinho, the success will eventually come.

Bagg, for once I'm kind of with you. As I've said before, I think Moaninho is substantially over-hyped. Clearly he's good, but for me he still has an awful lot to prove. When Porto won, of course he could only beat the teams in front of him, but other than Manure, they didn't have to roll any of the so-called 'big' European sides. I forget who was the fourth team they played, or was that back when there were still two 'league-style' rounds? Anyway, of course he could only beat the teams he was up against, but Monaco in the final and Deportivo in the semis were not opponents from the very top drawer. And had Manure beaten them (not had a goal incorrectly ruled out for offside etc.), then he would have had a much longer, slower road to prominence. I will be interested to see how he goes about building a club with just one or two financial constraints. Of course, we might not see that at Inter, anyway. I'm not saying he's not very good; I just think he actually hasn't proven it yet, despite what the British press will tell you.

Anyway, I kind of think Benitez is more likely than Moaninho; Benitez feels somehow a bit more Moratti's style. Of course it depends a bit on how things settle down at Liverfluke and some of the so-called experts seem to know a little bit more than they're letting on, but before this dam burst, my money would have been quietly on Rafa moving to Italy.

Hhmm...After all it comes to nothing......I am sure he will quit next season if we fail to win the CL.......I don't see us winning next year anyway.......Th question is will rafa and jose be available next season?i don't think so.......

if you want to win in CL I think rafa will be the guy. He always seems to get it right in CL.

Chelsea tipped with San Siro raid

Reports in Italy claim Chelsea are lining up a summer swoop for Inter Milan's highly-rated teenage striker Mario Balotelli.

The 17-year-old has caught the eye of several clubs this season having made an impact for Inter in the Coppa Italia, scoring in victories over Reggina and Juventus.

Two Chelsea scouts are believed to have watched the teenager in action for Inter's youth team recently, as he found the net again against the Fiorentina Under-18's.

Inter are understood to be preparing a new contract offer for Balotelli, who was born in Palermo, in an attempt to get the striker to commit his long term future to the San Siro giants.

But interest from the Premiershit may turn his head and its understood that Chelsea may test the water with an offer when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.
