Inter set to go Uruguayan

Inter look like they are about to add two Uruguayans to their South American contingent with Edinson Cavani and Diego Godin in their sights.

The Nerazzurri have a longstanding interest in Cavani who has publicly expressed his desire to join last year's treble winners.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini is resigned to selling him, but only for a fee in excess of €20m, although that apparently doesn't scare Inter.

Rafael Benitez has given his backing to the transfer and will meet with Inter's chief technical director Marco Branca on Thursday to discuss it further.

Inter are also looking to increase their options at the centre-back position and have been monitoring Villarreal's Diego Godin who has been one of the top three defenders in La Liga for the last couple of seasons.

La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that the 24-year-old has a contract until the end of next season and Villarreal are prepared to negotiate his sale given their precarious financial situation.

Inter to swap Maicon for Alonso?

Inter will ask Real Madrid if they are prepared to insert Xabi Alonso into any eventual deal for Douglas Maicon.

It's no secret that Maicon is Real Madrid's No 1 transfer target this summer, but negotiations have been difficult.

La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that the Spanish giants have offered €25m, but Inter are looking for at least €28m.

The Nerazzurri aren't prepared to drive a hard bargain and Rafael Benitez has apparently asked to co-own Xabi Alonso, the former Liverfekkin'wankscum midfielder.

Il Corriere dello Sport understands that a 50 per cent stake in Alonso's contract is worth €6m, which would more than bridge the gap between Madrid's offer for Maicon and Inter's demand for him.

Real completed their first signing of the Mourinho era yesterday, announcing a deal for Benfica's Argentina international winger Angel Di Maria.

Bari Coach Giampiero Ventura Aims To Keep Defender Andrea Ranocchia
Both the Biancorossi and Inter co-own the player's contract...

Bari coach Giampiero Ventura has revealed that he wishes to keep defender Andrea Ranocchia at the Galletti next season, despite interest from co-owners Inter in having the stopper in their line-up.

Ventura has already seen one defender leave the Southern Italian club, with Leonardo Bonucci departing for Juventus.

Ranocchia, though, has undergone surgery to repair his injured knee, and missed the entire second half of the season.

"Of course I wish to keep him," the boss told SportItalia. "But it doesn't depend on me only, seeing that Inter own 50 per cent of his playing contract.

"After a six-month lay-off, he needs to have the possibilty to play again, something he may not do a lot at Inter," he added.

There was an article at FCinternews about this and they said half already had been purchased but remember also that Bari's new sporting director said the same thing; that they want to keep him but it's up to Inter to decide what happens. There's still been no official announcement but it looks like the deal is done. Either Genoa or Bari would be good for a 6/12 month loan..

These kind of deals are only made official after the 1st of July for balance reasons. Dont ask me why and how, but that is what happens, especially when you spend cash (not exchange players). Last year was the same with Milito & Motta. We all knew they were bought since april, yet Milito got official a few days before the end of june (because we gave players like Acquafresca, Bonucci & Fatic for him), whereas Motta got official after 1st of July (spent cash).

I dont beleive there is any truth to the Xabi Alonso deal. Somehow, I dont understand why we would have to sell Maicon for balance reasons, only to get a player who will cost more or less the same amount..

In Moratti's latest interview, he said there won't be any cut price deals for Maicon and we'd be more than happy to hold onto him and the deal must be in cash, clearly because the players they want to bring in depend on the 35mil from the sale. Or we could possibly be looking to spend only half that amount and invest the rest back into the club, who knows?

Suppose we end up getting 35m in cash for Maicon, whom do we buy for half of that? Definitely Mascherano is not going to come that cheap. Silva has gone to Man City and Ozil wants Barca.

City close to Kolarov deal

Manchester City today expect to tie up a deal for Lazio full-back Aleksandar Kolarov, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Serbia international has apparently already agreed personal terms with the Premiershit outfit who got the better of Real Madrid.

Il Corriere dello Sport understands that City will pay Lazio €18m for Kolarov after talks in Claudio Lotito's offices in Villa San Sebastiano.

Kolarov represents a significant coup for City who are already blazing a trail through the transfer market with the signings of David Silva and Yaya Toure.

The Italian media now expects City to launch a bid for Inter's precocious 19-year-old striker Mario Balotelli.

The Italy Under-21 international didn't discourage reports of City's interest earlier this week, telling journalists of his admiration for Roberto Mancini who gave him his debut in Serie A.

So the guy is a RB heh..?? Well it would be wonderful to have a defence with Santon (LB), Ranocchia & Faraoni. 3 young Italian players. I do hope this guy lives up to his 'hype'...cause I've heard quite a few 'experts' claiming this guy will become a regular NT player in the very near future.

Yeah, he's got massive raps. I think it was Chelsea and Man Utd who we beat for his signature as well.

Genoa want Destro on loan or co-ownership and they wanted Biabiany as well but apparently they said that Inter didn't want to let him go according to the Genoa GM.
