I think Rochhi is not even in the EL list, so we just have Palacio and Cassano to play upfront.

I read reports that we are thinking of Van Nistelrooy, who just retired recently at the age of 36.

Apparently, the list of free agents available are Henry, Charisteas, Carew, Van Horse Face, Corradi and Mpenza.
I didn't think Henry was available as he is still under contract with New York.

Henry at Arsenal was one of my favorite players ever. I would definitely like to see him in Inter colors.

Lomba hit the nail on the head. Inter's problem is that 3 out of 11 players cannot give constant running. It is usually ok to have 1 player who does not participate in the team's movement. 3 / 11 is waaaay too much. Real problem is the lack of depth in the squad. Hence Strama still has to rely on Zanetti, because Jonathan can't play (as well as because of his carisma), on Cambiasso because he is the only mf who has good timing for going up and Cassano because we sold Countinho, Sneijder and don't trust Alvarez. This team will at best finish 6th or 7th in the Serie A.

What I am worried mostly is however, the total confusion the club is in. First we say we want to build a young team ... next we buy players like Mudingay, Silvestre, Rocchi etc .... a few days later we sell our most promising player .... not to mention when in July we were saying that Sneijder was to be the foundation to build the team on. The future does not look very bright I am afraid.

I really hope that despite the result in this weekends derby, Moratti does not sack Strama. We are spending way too much money on paying out managers contracts. Plus whichever new manager comes in, will probably get another 2 + 1 contract and we will have to start this project debacle all over again. It's getting fucking frustrating. I really want stability and someone for the future, and despite Strama's age, I think he can bring us out of this crisis. Sure he has made a few poor decisions, but its all part of the process. He isn't being presented with the players or the money he needs to build a championship winning side here, and all things considering he isn't doing such a bad job.
Also Briz, if you are still around, we would like to hear (read) your thoughts.

I still think our major problem is not having Milito and our lack of a replacement for him. Palacio cannot do the job. He is a good second striker and can do well in games like Cluj when he has acres of space to counterattack in but in Serie A where teams are much stronger tactically, he can't play the lone striker. He can't hold the ball up and he is also isolated with Cassano always hugging the left wing. Having Milito in there gives the central defenders something else to think about and gives Palacio the freedom to roam and work the space between the center back and full back.

More importantly it gives the midfielders an option to pass to upfront. Without that we struggle to move the ball into the opponents area and struggle to keep hold of possession. All this talk about tiredness may be true to a certain extent but it still masks the real problem. I just saw the first 20 mins of the game but even a fully fit team would have struggled to win at Florence.

I think if we are to have any chance of finishing 3rd we need to find a solution for the Milito role or find a different way to play. Palacio and Cassano duo just won't do IMO.

I was at this game. Inter offered very little offensively and were easily picked apart by Fiorentina. Cassano is pure class, some of his touches were lovely (we actually left before his goal!), but like Lomba says he goes missing in games for far too long. He needs to hit the treadmill. Guarin is a beast, and Alvarez should be starting for you's. Strama is just too much of a defensive coach, and when he even gets that wrong his teams are made to look like utter crap.

Why are we playing a full strength team against Cluj when we have a two goal lead and a Milan derby over the weekend?
