What is your opinion on names mentioned related to inter for the next transfer market? I am not very happy with some names. I think we should go for younger players rather than players like Evra (33), Torres (30), Behrami (29) ....

There are sooooo many freebies available, here are some of the 'bigger' names..

Except Sagna (and Pirlo being too old), I wouldn't even take a second look at any of the others. We need players that can slot into the starting 11. If we are getting decent players, with our budget that's more likely, I would look at younger options.

I think we are looking at Torres because he would be available on a loan with an option to buy. I wonder if we could get similar deals on one of Soldado, Negredo or Jovetic.

Official: Livaja to Rubin Kazan

Marko Livaja has officially been sold to Rubin Kazan by Inter and Atalanta. “I am very happy and proud.”

The 20-year-old Croatian forward completed the transfer this evening, as confirmed by the Russian club, and signed a five-year contract.

“When my agent told me I would go to Rubin, I felt great emotion,” said Livaja on the official club website.

“I am very happy and proud that a club like Rubin chose me. I can’t wait to get started so I can make my debut with this jersey.

“Thanks to the fans of Atalanta and Inter. Now I want to win over the Rubin supporters.”

Cambiasso won't be extending his deal. Thohir is going for a clean slate, seeing off all the treble winners.

This is happening at least 2 years too late, but I guess better now than never.
Just makes me think what would have happened at this point if Moratti was still around... another year to Zanetti (strange how Zanetti started to be regarded as a simple reserve only once Moratti left the presidency), a new contract to Cambiasso... got the shivers.

Inter cut Cambiasso and Milito

Inter have officially confirmed Esteban Cambiasso and Diego Milito will leave after declining to offer new contracts.

These two stars of the Treble campaign in 2010 will be free agents next month, as their current deals expire on June 30.

“I speak to Cambiasso every day in an informal manner, as he is a friend,” director of sport Piero Ausilio announced in a Press conference.

“Today there was a difficult moment between him and I, as we talked about the future. Due to reasons of strategy, renewal and an Inter for young players, he will not be confirmed in the squad.

“We will not propose a new contract. He understood this and sooner or later will return to us.”

Cambiasso had hinted as much in a recent meeting with the Inter fan club, noting “you need two signatures on a contract.”

The 33-year-old Argentine arrived in July 2004, so ends a decade of service with the Nerazzurri.

Javier Zanetti is retiring – though he too had not been offered a contract renewal – while Milito is also walking away for a return to Argentina.

“We said to each other it was preferable to change, he knows that,” added Ausilio. “Milito does not represent a problem for us, as he is a professional who loves our club colours.

“I would like to win tomorrow with him as a protagonist. It would be great closure.

“When saying goodbye to such important players who built great success, it’s clearly disappointing and some might also be worried. Inter take responsibility for these decisions, even if they could be unpopular and difficult.

“We are a club looking to the future and want to open a new era.”

Rano or Hernanes to captain?

Why Hernanes? He's just arrived.

Rano could leave too at the end of this season. Hernanes is well respected (still by the Lazio supporters) and we have him on a contract for the next 4 years. I can't see anyone else in the team who is 'captain material'.

Mazzarri announcement on Wed

Walter Mazzarri will hold a surprise Press conference at San Siro on Wednesday – will it be an Inter renewal or goodbye?

On Saturday director of sport Piero Ausilio confirmed Mazzarri had been offered a new contract, but was “taking some time to think about it.”

It has also been reported that Mazzarri received an offer from abroad – potentially Tottenham – which is making him reconsider his options.

The club confirmed today that there will be a Press conference at San Siro on Wednesday, so clearly Mazzarri has something to announce.

It will begin at 11.30 UK time (10.30 GMT).

I knew that a day like yesterday would have arrived when we would have to salute 4 of the best players that have worn and honoured the Inter jersey like every few.

I will not go into the technical abilities of each, I think the figures, respect from everyone and trophies won speak for themselves. However, I think that the human element and the love they have shown for Inter in these 4 players deserves a huge applause. It's the end of an era, maybe an unrepeatable era and its sad ... its oh so sad. Life goes on, and so does football. We will cheer for new champions that will exult us or make us angry. Hopefully these new players will live up to the club's name and bring the glory days back, but in the heart f every Inter supporter Walter Samuel, Diego Principe Milito, Cuchu Cambiasso and especially Pupi Capitano Zanetti will always have a special place.
