Kaka and Mathieu Flamini have not recovered, so Milan push Clarence Seedorf forward, while Juventus look to tender Alex The Waterboy and Amauri. There were fitness doubts over the two Rossoneri stars and it was already reported earlier this afternoon that they would not be ready in time for tonight’s big match. Kaka is suffering from an upper thigh problem, while Flamini knocked his ankle during the last training session.

Carlo Ancelotti is forced to reshuffle with Seedorf and Ronaldinho supporting lone striker Alexandre Pato, leaving Emerson in midfield to face his former club. Gennaro Gattuso, Alessandro Nesta, Marco Borriello and Daniele Bonera are also sidelined.

Juve have their usual injury list with Gigi Buffon, David Trezeguet, Mauro Camoranesi, Jonathan Zebina, Christian Poulsen and Tiago Mendes. Marco Marchionni takes Camoranesi’s place wide right, with Claudio Marchisio partnering Momo Sissoko – who has recovered from a bout of flu. Cristiano Zanetti is fit, but Claudio Ranieri opted to rest him considering he was out of action for four months.

Couldn't watch the game and it seems it was a good thing.
It doesn't seem like there is any point in getting younger players if Carlo persists in playing the old timers. I keep giving him the benefit of the doubt but for the life of me I cannot see what Emerson, Favalli and Shevchenko bring to the team (other then experience by default).
I've not completely lost hope for the Scudetto yet as I really can't come to terms with either Inter or Juve taking it. Maybe this should be Carlo's last season if we don't win it; the UEFA Cup would be a nice, little consolation but not enough to give him another chance.
I'd say Shevchenko is the worst acquisition this season because of taking up that non EU spot and actually stepping on the field to showcase how bad he has become.

to be fair the Uefa cup is a letdown as its carlo's fault we ended up here in the first place so winning it meens feck all to me ase shouldnt even be competing as the team we had should have had 4th place

i agree on that formation, sp.
i would still have hope of winning the scudetto if carlo is replaced after christmas. otherwise, it's more of the same emerdason, kaladze, favalli and shevchenko bullshit. i do believe that we have the team to challenge for the title, even with a subpar defense
it's true that shevchenko is by far the worst purchase in all of football (did we actually pay to buy him back?) and senderos is probably a close second. what a bunch of duds signed by the bf. beckham will probably replace senderos as our second worst acquisition as he will probably bench a good player like flamini or seedorf so that we can make some money off him. and lose in the process.

MILAN, Dec 15 (Reuters) - AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso underwent successful knee surgery on Monday and is expected to be out for six months. The Italy World Cup winner, badly missed by Milan in Sunday's 4-2 Serie A defeat at Juventus, tore ligaments in the 1-0 win over Catania earlier this month.

"The cruciate ligaments in the right knee have been reconstructed. The surgery was perfectly successful," Milan said in a statement. "The recovery time is estimated at around six months."

The operation in Antwerp, overseen by top surgeon Marc Martens, had been due to take place on Friday but was brought forward. Milan, joint-third in Serie A and nine points behind leaders Inter Milan, have ruled out buying a replacement for the 30-year-old in January when midfielder David Beckham will join on a short-term loan from Los Angeles Galaxy.

Italy, who top World Cup qualifying Group Eight, will be without Gattuso for February's friendly with Brazil in London, March's qualifying trip to Montenegro and the visit of Ireland in April.
