Cagliari play a very good football, they are an in-form team. The Milan management has improved, we await important signs - THE PRESS CONFERENCE OF CARLO ANCELOTTI –

MILAN - Little by little we’re starting to recover all the players, the management of the squad has improved, the results are important and then there will be the break to improve the condition of some players.

We need everything to have an important season, therefore the performances of Anonini and Emerson in Zurich please us.

I think that the continuity is important and we expect important signs because Milan has problems in this aspect. We are one group, of total trust which in fifteen days managed to overturn the situation in the standings. As a coach and the club we are very proud. All the players did their part, the interpreters are the players who have made group and a lot of the credit should go to them.

Cagliari play well, a good football. It’s a paradox that they don’t have any points, it’s an in-form team and lost due to individual errors. Our opponents play an offensive football. They are a formation with young players who can create difficulties always. The ideal would be to close the circle if we end with a win as it would be very positive. We could therefore work with more serenity during the break and this will constitute an advantage. Cagliari play in a different way to Inter, the central midfield has less space and I think that Gattuso is better for this game, but Seedorf will play.

The solution adopted in the derby was positive, with Kaka, Pato and Ronaldinho. Sheva did well against Zurich, Inzaghi is available for tomorrow and will start from the bench. I think that it’s fair to confirm the three Brazilians who did well against Inter, until tomorrow… (he laughs).

Seedorf was very important during this period, but not only, even in these years. At Genoa Clarence accepted the exclusion without any problem, he understood that he was needed in midfielder and he is covering this role very well, not only on the pitch, but also trying to gel the group.

Ronaldinho is improving his physical condition the more he plays. A player can improve with the trainings or the games. I think that he can also play tomorrow evening, as an alternative to Shevchenko who is more or less in the same conditions of Ronaldinho. The latter knows how to manage himself, from the point of view of what he must improve and when he will feel better he will take advantage of this quality. Right now he's not at his best and he does these thought moves when he is at his best.

There will not be a team for the league and one for the Uefa Cup, we can manage our resources. We don’t want to make comparisons with the teams with whom we compete. We're tougher and more solid, I see a healthy group, available and pro-positive, and this is the most important thing. I have a lot of trust now than a month ago when the group was not there. We were without any available players, but now I can say it that Milan is amongst the favourites because they have a very very healthy group.

I’m not worried about the central defence with Bonera and Maldini who can play a good game. Both Nesta and Senderos will be recovered following the break so the defence problem will be overcome. Even Kaladze has an injury which we are sure that it will not take long. We shall recover also Marco Borriello. Nine different players scored in the league and the Uefa Cup, but this is just a statistics which tells us that we have many solutions both for the attackers but also for the attacking midfielders.

Abbiati has always been a good goalkeeper and the experience abroad did him well. It’s fair that he is rewarded with praises.

During the break for the national team there will be time to improve the physical aspect. There’s a very important game which we will play for Borgonovo, even though in this occasion the team will play the first 45 minutes. We shall play another friendly game at Tirana on the 14th of October. We shall continue to play because the games can help the players who play less. In the evening the team plays better because we manage to have a different concentration, there isn’t a reason. Maybe we are used to prepare the games differently, we already have more time and the results will arrive easily.

I’m staying in my place, it’s difficult to make comparisons between coaches. I defeated Mourinho twice but we must consider that with two different teams, the coach must be judged for what he does with the team, the philosophy which takes towards the group, the programming and identity which he manages to imprint. Not only that, there's also the attention and the motivation which he manages to transmit. The squad is the mirror of the coach’s work. One cannot judge just from the standings or from a game.

one of carlo's most underrated qualities is his composure in difficult situations; he always comes up with the right thing to say at the right time.

same old same, nothing new, carlo can't put game motivation into the team, either the game itself motivates them, or it doesn't, we were so static, careless and hardly anyone looks like he gives big ass damn(except ambro and kaka like always), small game perfromance and tactics, shows that we can win 10 CL with carlo, but not a single damn scudetto(we won one with him because the players actually were motivated to do so back then).

carlo is too friendly to the players for my taste, or for the winning mentality taste.

even though we played like shit, Maldini was, again, the only one playing like he gave a damn. he was a monster.

Apparently much sough-after young French striker Gabriel Obertan said its his wish to join Milan when he leaves Bordeaux: “First I want to make a name for myself in France, and then go to Italy or Spain. Milan would be very classy. There is such a history at that club. But I am more than happy at Bordeaux at the moment.â€
