Nope, we're just saying that individuals were involved in this whole scandal for personal benefits and not for teams benefits. Thus Milan is punished not for BUYING REFEREES (like Juve was punished), but cause one of Milan employees was involved in the scandal.

i don't understand how you guys keep missing rob's point. yes, we were punished for calciopoli, but you still cannot provide anything concrete that we did. galliani may have known about moggi's operations, which is why i suspect we got punished because he was head of calcio, but ever team's president knew about it, too. just none of them could do anything about it as none had any proof that would hold up in court until the phone conversations came up. hence, we got punished because galliani didn't do anything about it, but it was his role as league chief, not as milan vp, that made him responsible for that.

by the way, meani was asking for a fair game against rube in that phone conversation because we knew that we were not going to get one. as far as i remember, it was still not a fair game as we had two clear penalties ignored and the game ended 0-0.

Meani e Bergamo parlano dei guardalinee di Fiorentina-Milan, poi vinta dai rossoneri per 2-1. Alla fine si legge una raccomandazione, da parte di Meani, sul comportamento futuro dell'arbitro Trefoloni.

I'm gonna say this one last time, never said that Milan were innocent or not guilty or whatever. Just commented on the fact that Juve's involvement in Calciopoli is well documented as opposed to Milan.

A. C. Milan were implicated by the intercept of a single telephone call made by Leonardo Meani, a minor executive who was no longer with the club by the Spring of 2006. Meani had been caught in the telephone conversations discussing the assignment of specific linesmen for Milan's game against Chievo Verona in April 2005 with the Italian Football Federation official responsible for assigning linesmen.
AC Milan attorneys as well as the attorneys for Milan Vice-President, Adriano Galliani, argued that the club had neither prior knowledge of nor approved of Meani’s actions and that Meani was a minor club official acting on his own initiative. [4] [5]. But the sports tribunal set up by the Italian Football Federation to hear the charges noted that Galliani had known of Meani’s conduct after the fact and had neither reprimanded Meani nor alerted the Italian Football Federation of the misconduct. Moreover, even if the tribunal could not specifically prove that Galliani had instructed Meani to arrange for certain linesmen to be appointed for the Chievo match, the intercepted phone call between Meani and the Italian Football Federation Official came at the instigation of Galliani who was upset about several decisions by linesmen made against AC Milan in their loss to Sienna a week prior to Meani's phone call.

Loll. I hope that by putting this article you’re just willing to prove my point, right?
I have given you documented illecits done by Milan which weren’t even evaluated by the court, for God only knows what reason, and you come out proving my point by that article.
Why is it that Milan were judged only upon that one phone call, instead of the others I gave you, wereas Juve were treated differently?

Thanks for proving my point that laws are not equal for everyone.

P.S. I can give you links to wire-taps of Meani also talking about giving to the referees some Adidas watches, yet that call was put under the carpet…. I hope you do have enough memory to remember what happened when a different club was willing to give to various refs some rolex watches. That in itself, says a lot.

i guess the difference is, other than adidas watches are no rolexes, that no watches were there to be distributed as it never got past the talking stage. surely you don't suggest we should have been punished more severely for talking about distributing the watches than roma were for the rolexes?

another thing, collina was not involved in calciopoli as far as we know and he retired on a very solid reputation as the finest ref of his time. he did not show any preference in the games he officiated, so when meani asked to have collina officiate, it was not because he was on our books, but because he was the one competent referee who could be trusted. as for the issue of sponsorship, collina's deal with opel only occurred after ours expired, so again, no conflict of interest there.

by the way, inter seemed to have profited a lot more from collina being the head official last season than we did.
