Let me rephrapse what i meant on previous post Lomba. In countries that go through transition, social, economical or political you need to show some power and take some unilateral decisions otherwise you get into a cycle where you get stuck. If you ask me if its fair, ill say no, but still its the best choice among the wrong ones. There's no thing such as pure democracy, nor it wil ever be. The difference between Americans and us Europians is that those bastards respect hierarchy, while we, espetially this "more traditional" part of Europe bitch too much. You think Bush isnt "corrupted" more than Berlusconi? But look at him, he's still there, running a country, loved by many, seen as hero and protector and god knows what! Sow as clinton, Bush senior any many others before them.

Im not justifying his actions, cause i doubt that they were none. To get in top of Italy its quite a business. We shouldnt judge Berlusconi based on if he's corrupted or not, if his companies profit from public expenses or not (after all whoever would come there would do the same thing). We should judge him based on what he's doing for Italy. And i think he did much, and if im wrong then those Italians that have voted him for the 3d time ARE NOT! All im trying to say that some actions are justified, or should be. Sometimes you need total control of power to set things straight. Not fair, seems as dictatorial, but it has to go that way.

But lets not drag paralels with Berlusconi "superpower" in politics and MILANH. To tell you the truth, whenevr he was in politics we suffered cause bastard never saw reasonable to spent millions in transfer when south of his country had problems with waste management! Now that is a fact and i need no article to proove that.

i suspect that in such a case moratti would find a right-hand-man to run the club for him. in berlu's case, even if he could be prosecuted and was found guilty, galliani would simply take over reigns of the club.

Ok, noone can deny the impact such powerful man can have in life, even in football. But its not that powerful cz if so he would have saved our asses on calciopoli scandal. Then I can guarantee you that if he wasnt in politics at all, or if he were just a Milan president he would have less enemies and we would benefit more.

We do not like his involvement in politics at all because it always prooved to be damaging for Milan, due to lack of attention he showed for the club. Not his personal commitment, cause by now Milan is huge corporate and as so can self-exist without Berlusconi. With good management Milan as a company would be just fine. But the impact he's giving on Milan is rather restrictive when as we agreed spending millions is seen not-reasonable by PM, even those millions that would be normal if he wasnt involved in politics.

All in all, I would rather see someone else running Italy (not Prodi or those communists cause they really are fucked up), and I would rather se Berlusconi retire from business and politics and care only for Milan. But if you ask my political prefences and how much i know about Italy, I can tell you that with Berlusconi Italy is benefiting more than with any other government so far. Blair in England was nothing compared to Brown. Gordon Brown was genious and Tony compared to him was just a "student". But look at figures now, since Blair left England is fucked up. And I can tell u this, since his departure he raised smth like 80 million euros from lectures at universities, conferences or seminars. That my friend is indirect corruption as well as modernized. Can you eblieve that one of his lectures was paid 2 milion pounds? What the heck.... People are paying him favours he used to do for them while he was PM. And same with Clinton. But noone speaks of it, they are all happy for what they did and how they lead their respective countries. Berlusconi is not an angel but its a hell of a politician and for that people, i guess, have voted him.

RobHood, there's a billion articles stating that Milan were relegated, then not relegated and docked 8 points BECAUSE THEY WERE GUILTY. Unless you started following Milan that May because they won the CL, there's no denying their guilt and their role in that case nor is there denying their history of being a corrupt club. Just google "milan calciopoli" and you'll get about 300 sites.
