Report: Olympique de Marseille's Taye Taiwo agrees terms with AC Milan

Nigeria international Taye Taiwo has made the decision to leave Ligue 1 powerhouse Olympique de Marseille for Italian table-toppers AC Milan on a free transfer at the end of the season, L'Equipe reports.

The highly-rated defender has an expiring contract at the Stade Velodrome and has been linked with several major European clubs in the past few months.

Taiwo recently revealed that he had set his sights on a move to Serie A, and the left-back has now allegedly reached an agreement with the San Siro club on a three-year deal.

Nevertheless, neither party has confirmed the agreement as of yet, as both Milan and Marseille are fighting for the title in their respective domestic leagues and no official transfers are expected to be announced until the season comes to an end.

Milan are in the market for a new left-back because of the disappointing performances of Luca Antonini and Marek Jankulovski this term and they're hopeful that Taiwo will be the answer to their defensive worries.

It's unfair for us to deny he played a major role in this one, he carried the team big time in the first half and set the stage for the second half...he's a proven scudetto monster and will be needed to unlock the small sides....I do agree that we play with more dynamism, pace and are more unpredictable without him but you cannot deny his impact in Serie A...in CL, he's forver a choker...I wish Allegri can just "rest" him in CL games next year

That'd be quite a shrewd move, I think - Aquilani would fit very naturally into Allegri's 4-3-3 and I suspect his mental softness wouldn't be quite so exposed at Milan. I wouldn't be surprised were Arsewipe to make a sneaky move for him too, actually. He'd be quite a natural fit in either place.

i'd be against this move for the same reason i would be against signing robben: the salary paid would be too much for the number of games the player would play, and their in-and-out presence in the lineup would be destabilizing to the team. would much rather get a player who maybe isn't as good at his best, but won't miss a ton of games.

Reports: Ganso agents meeting with AC Milan

MILAN (AP)—Agents for 21-year-old Brazil playmaker Ganso reportedly met with AC Milan officials inside the club’s headquarters Wednesday.

Ganso’s Brazilian and Italian agents spent about three hours with Milan vice president Adriano Galliani and sporting director Ariedo Braida, the ANSA news agency and Gazzetta dello Sport reported.

Ganso, whose full name is Paulo Henrique Ganso, has been with Santos since 2008 and is one of the most promising players in Brazilian football, along with teammate Neymar.

Earlier this month, Santos said it had filed a complaint against AC Milan and Inter Milan for their alleged attempt to negotiate Ganso’s transfer without the Brazilian club’s consent.

Ganso made his international debut in Brazil’s 2-0 win over the United States in August.

Also Wednesday, the agent for Schalke forward Jefferson Farfan was seen entering Milan’s offices, according to ANSA.
