The management needs put all sentiments aside and act with reason for once....I'm not necessarily calling for every single old guard to be let go, I don't think that's realistic and it will also leave us with too many replacements to make in 1 summer but if Seedorf stays, then it's a pretty fucking discouraging sign when it comes to the rest as he's always looked like the most likely to depart ...at any case, I think we need to keep only one of Seedorf and Pirlo and only one of Rino and Ambro...my preference is keeping Pirlo and Ambro...we need to make room for Merkel was pretty good in that spell in January/February when we were hard hit by injury to midfield

i'm worried about the mexes deal. we're offering a 29 year old player a 4 year contract worth 4.5m a year. and he just tore a cruciate. and it is mexes, who has always been prone to a brain fart or 2. for the price of nothing, he's a great acquisition. but he isn't worth that contract i don't think.

gattuso's agent has been pretty non-committal about rino staying next season, so he might just leave on a high as well. whatever the case, whoever leaves must be replaced. we're also getting linked to that french guy on chievo, kevin constant, and the lazzarri rumors continue as well. there is also the rumor of us signing poli from sampdoria, i've seen him play and he's a really good creative midfielder, and he's pretty young as well.

i wanted to win last night's game and i want us to win the coppa this year. yeah, it's still an almost meaningless trophy, but my opposition to it usually is because it distracts the team from focusing 100% on the league and on the cl, but with the latter long gone and the league almost wrapped up (barring an epic failure), we may as well go for coppa "glory" as well.

about the game: we had too many players coming back from injury and it showed, as most of the players were lagging behind the play and made countless unforced errors. pirlo, boateng, cassano, as well as seedorf and sokratis did plenty of these, and seedorf's awful mispass led to palermo's second goal, which i thought looked offside. sokratis was awful in defense: haven't seen anyone so out of place in there since kaladze. i'll chalk it up to playing rust, but you're not going to win many starts with performances like that.

zlatan scored one and set up another, but also missed many sitters and until about the 60th minute, the team was sending far too many longballs his way, which was frustrating. he is a frustrating player all around, though at least he earned his pay by doing what he is paid to do. cassano looked terrible - static, even - and when emmanuelson and robinho came on for seedorf and cassano, respectively, it made us much mroe dynamic and exciting to watch. overall, a good game and i think we can win in palermo.

I didn't watch the entire game but only parts of it...main thing I didn't like is seeing Pirlo in the regista role infront of the defence, usually this means the defence is exposed and I do not like to see him there ....I think the LMF spot that Allegri moved him to earlier this year is perfect...having him there allows us to use his creativity without being penalized too much for his defensive short-comings...however, it may understandable that he was played there in a coppa game to give Van Bommel a breather ahead of a crucial league game and also we don't have an alternative there with the absence of Ambro

That said, it doesn't help when the defence line has is 3/4 bench players (I fucking hate this Sokratis dude)...overall, not the best result for a home game in a two-legged tie, but this is the coppa not CL, so its no big deal...actually it still give us a fighting chance in the second leg..it's May 12th and there's a chance the league might be wrapped up by then, so we may use our best starting XI for that one...that may be just enough for us to squeeze past what is surely our bogey team in recent years

MILAN - Barbara Berlusconi, the glamorous daughter of AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi, was voted onto the board of the Serie A leaders on Wednesday.

"It is a sign of the continued interest of the Berlusconi family who have always been close to the club and offered economic support," Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani told reporters.

"The fact that the club president's brother (Paolo) and one of his daughters are on the board is a good sign which must also be welcomed by fans as an act of faith."

Fans had criticised Italian prime minister Berlusconi for a lack of investment following the sale of Kaka to Real Madrid in 2009 but they have been silenced by a mini spending splurge at the start of the season and the club closing in on the title.

Media reports have long linked Milan with a possible bid by Arab investors but Berlusconi has denied any immediate interest in selling.

Barbara, 26, has been touring departments of the club for the last year to get used to the organisation and has been the subject of vast Italian press coverage speculating about her relationship with Milan's Brazil striker Alexandre Pato.

The Italian football federation also said in a statement on Wednesday that Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic's appeal against his three-game Serie A ban for swearing at a linesman had been rejected.
