Agent cool on Milan rumours

Dimitar Berbatov's agent says AC Milan have not been in touch over a possible move but has hinted the Tottenham striker would be keen. According to reports in Italy, Milan are keen to land the Bulgaria striker in the summer, but his agent, Emil Dantchev, says that is news to him as the Rossoneri have not been in touch.

Dantchev has insisted that his client is happy at White Hart Lane but will not rule out a possible swoop and says Berbatov would no doubt be interested if Milan came knocking.

"If there is any interest there has been no contact with his club," Dantchev told setantasports.com. "Milan is one of the biggest clubs in Europe and if there was interest we would discuss it with Dimitar. At the moment Dimitar is concentrating on doing his job with Tottenham. There is plenty of time until the transfer window.

well, pocari, kaladze doesn't usually suck that much. favalli, yes. i still don't understand why he started ahead of bonera, but even that probably wouldn't have been a problem had seedorf played the full 90. sure, he wasn't match fit when he started, but by the second half he got his form back. carlo probably subbed him out as a precaution, thinking that a player just back from injury is more likely to reinjure himself if he plays for longer than he is fit to, which is true, though unfortunately that move cost us.

shield, congrats you lucky bastard for seeing such a great match (especially for you guys) live. maldini was easily our second best player that night, though it's a shame that kalac and kaladze had to have their worst games of the season that night to sabotage what would have been a perfect evening for il capitano. i do hope he has another season left in him.

yeah, though that was 10m pounds iirc. sure looked like a steal after his first season, though. to be fair, however, i don't remember any of us being a fan of the oliveira transfer from the beginning.

Reports in Italy state that Andriy Shevchenko will return to Milan on loan next season and that a deal is already taking shape. Shevchenko left Milan for Chelsea in the summer of 2006 after a phenomenal period at San Siro that saw him hit 127 goals in 208 games. Despite the record-breaking fee of £30m, the Ukraine international has failed to settle in the Premiershit and has seen his career stall at Stamford Bridge.

Sheva is highly likely to seek a new club at the end of the season and he has been sighted in Milan in recent weeks, where he is said to be house hunting. There have been suggestions that a deal is already being discussed with Chelsea - who are unlikely to oppose the 31-year-old's departure.

Milan are looking to strengthen their front line with Ronaldo sidelined for at least another nine months and have been linked to a host of top names. While Tottenham’s Dimitar Berbatov is reportedly an option, the vast sum needed to prise him away from White Hart Lane may be a stumbling block. A loan may prove the ideal bridging solution for both sides and Sheva would be guaranteed the warmest of welcomes from the Milan faithful.


Oh yeah, this is really a step in the right direction. Bring back a 31-year-old who hasn't being playing anything near his best for quiet some time now, thats really the answer to your aging problems. Milan cannot be serious?

Seedorf sizes up familiar foes

AC Milan team-mates will become adversaries for Clarence Seedorf as his Netherlands side line up against Italy in Group C at UEFA EURO 2008â„¢ on 9 June.

Midfield quartet
Seedorf, Andrea Pirlo, Gennaro Gattuso and Massimo Ambrosini comprise the midfield that has helped Milan reach three UEFA Champions League finals in the last five seasons, winning the trophy in 2003 and 2007. But the 31-year-old Dutchman will be the odd man out in Berne as he lines up against his club colleagues in Italy and the Netherlands' opening game of the finals. "At the moment I really don't know how it will be to face them, but to take part in the tournament will certainly be very good," Seedorf, who is looking ahead to his fourth UEFA European Championship, told uefa.com. "We see each other every day so it will not be strange for me. I know them well and they know me as well."

Fierce competition
With France and Romania completing the line up in Group C – regarded by many as the toughest of the four sections in Austria and Switzerland – Seedorf knows his side will be underdogs against the FIFA World Cup holders. "We were knocked out of the World Cup and didn't win our EURO qualifying group so we are fully aware it will be difficult," he said.

Young talent
The Netherlands can count on several emerging talents, many of them promoted from the sides which have won successive UEFA European Under-21 Championships. Seedorf, however, prefers to take a cautious approach with young players. "We'll see," he said. "There are a lot of talented players who could become champions. Only a few of them actually do become champions though. For example at Milan we have Pato and he will have to develop without pressure under the care of the expert staff who look after him. He needs space to grow and to learn from his mistakes in order to develop and become a great player. Age is not the key factor – the desire to be competitive is. Look at Paolo Maldini: He's 40 and is still the best."

Positive focus
Seedorf has had his share of EURO disappointments. His missed shoot-out penalty at EURO '96â„¢ ended the Netherlands' hopes in the quarter-finals against France ,and he was also in the side that lost out to Italy on spot-kicks at UEFA EURO 2000â„¢ after missing twice from eleven metres in normal time. "I don't like to dwell on the bad things," he explained. "I focus on good memories and positive moments. Bad moments are part of a player's development because overcoming difficulties helps one grow, but I'm a positive person. I always try to create positive and good things and it will be the same this summer." Pirlo, Gattuso and Ambrosini will know that only too well.
