the Champions League showdown against Manchester United as Alessandro Nesta is in doubt with a meniscus problem.

Sky Sport Italia claim a new problem has come to light in the past few hours and Milan are now waiting to find out further if their man can play.

Despite the concerns, the feeling from Old Trafford is that Nesta will have to bite his lip and play on regardless.

Milan are likely to confirm this just before kick-off at 20:45CET tonight.

A further problem to Luca Antonini means Leonardo will have to use Daniele Bonera, a central defender out on the left - a position he is unfamiliar with.

There is no improvement for Alexandre Pato. He won't even be on the bench as he watches this one from the stands.

United take a 3-2 aggregate lead with them into the game.

“It’s unlikely that Pato will make it and I think [Marco] Borriello, [Klaas-Jan] Huntelaar and Ronaldinho will play up front,” Galliani told Sky Sport 24.

Milan trail 3-2 from the first leg and the Italians face an uphill battle to book their place in the last eight of the competition, but Galliani is cautiously confident.

“We can do it, this is the feeling I get after that first leg,” he said.

“We think we can put up a fight, but I won’t make predictions. It is an exciting game, like many that we have faced throughout this club’s history.”

If Nesta is out, our slim chance is as good as gone...and thats before even considering the Pato situation

Let's hope its just smokescreen about both players
