AC Milan defender Thiago Silva believes arch-rivals Inter will win the race to sign Brazilian starlet Ganso. Santos midfielder Ganso, 21, has already made his full international debut for Brazil and is rated as one of the finest young talents in the country.

It emerged in January that both Milan clubs were due to battle it out for his signature, but Thiago Silva - who joined the Rossoneri in 2009 - has revealed he expects Inter boss Leonardo to prove decisive in the deal.

"Leonardo was very important in my career," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport. "I'll reveal a little secret: before signing for Milan, I was in negotiations with Inter. Well, Leonardo [then Milan boss] started calling me on the phone.

"He talked about the team, Milanello and my future. After a few weeks of this, I slammed the door on Inter and signed for Milan. I think he'll take the same approach with Ganso.

"Unfortunately, it won't be easy to convince Ganso to turn down Inter with Leonardo there. He always has the right words."

its weird, while i'm sure ganso appeals to inter, they are unbelievably stacked in that department. sneijder, stankovic, coutinho and they'll have that kid from feyenord.

we only have seedorf for that role, and he's gone after this season.

in terms of necessity, we need him more. but knowing the mind-blowing inferiority complex that exists in the shit side of milan, inter might just beat us for him.

MILAN (AP) -Retired AC Milan captain Paolo Maldini has reportedly been indicted on charges including corruption for allegedly paying off a tax agency official to avoid fiscal checks.

The ANSA and LaPresse news agencies say Maldini attended the hearing in Milan on Monday.

The reports say Maldini has also been charged by the Milan judge with illegal activity regarding a real estate deal in Tuscany.

The 42-year-old Maldini retired after the 2008-09 season, having spent his entire 25-year career with Milan.
