Milan fears over Nesta fitness

Milan could be forced to return to the transfer market after key defender Alessandro Nesta reported a back problem.

The Rossoneri believed that they had completed their summer spending with the arrival of Ronaldinho.

However, the Diavolo are still short of options in defence in spite of the signature of Azzurri stopper Gianluca Zambrotta.

With the news that Nesta is suffering from pain in his upper back, the Corriere dello Sport insists that Milan will look for a possible replacement.

The world champions had been linked with former Roma stopper Matteo Ferrari in recent months, but they never made any concrete approach for the free agent.

Milan Eye Brazilian Duo

Milan maybe forced to invest in a defender as a result of Alessandro Nesta’s on-going injury woes and the club have turned their attentions to some Selecao stoppers according to reports in Italy.

Adriano Galliani had claimed that the Rossoneri’s transfer campaign was over following the arrival of Ronaldinho from Barcelona last week.

However, Nesta has been suffering from back problems similar to those which caused panic at Juventus when Gian Luigi Buffon reported pain to his lower back last term.

Tuttomercatoweb claims that Il Diavolo are likely to keep a close eye on Sao Paulo stopper tender Alex Silva who is likely to be cheaper than other potential target Thiago Silva of Fluminense.

Both players will represent Brazil at this summer’s Olympics in China and reports in Italy claim that Milan have sent out some scouts to watch the duo.

The problem affecting Nesta is not yet known and it seems as if the Rossoneri are not willing to take a gamble with the stopper’s fitness. This could leave the door for the arrival of a new defender wide open.

I think Milan should buy Sao Paulo's nilmar as quick as possible, he is a quality playmaker and style and he will adjust himself easily in the rossoneri side, and Milan will rock with it
