Fu proprio il cavalier Berlusconi a porre il veto sull'acquisto di Buffon. Il retroscena riguarda i tempi antecedenti il rinnovo di Dida, quando Galliani fece firmare un precontratto a Buffon di sei milioni annui. Il patron rossonero si oppose all'esosa spesa e propese per il no.

GLASGOW - Here are the declarations made by Carlo Ancelotti and Massimo Oddo during the press conference held today in Glasgow, on the eve of the Champions League match against Celtic:

Carlo Ancelotti:
"Whether Dida goes on the pitch tomorrow or not depends exclusively on his physical conditions, I will evaluate the situation during tonight's training session and afterwards as well. If I see he is fine, he will play tomorrow. Regarding the match against Celtic? I think matches sometimes help to solve problems as well as evidencing them, I hope tomorrow's match will help us solve our problems.
Celtic are certainly an important team, we'll be playing in a splendid stadium where there will be a fantastic public.
We will find back former Rossonero Donati. When he was with Milan he wanted to play with continuity, but with the players available in this squad it was not possible. But I am happy about his good start in the Champions League with Celtic. Massimo will want to do well in tomorrow's game, he will be very determined as will all of his team mates.

Massimo Oddo:
"The defence has been criticised because of the goals it's been conceding lately. In these situations, however, it's normal to receive criticism, we accept it and are ready to improve ourselves, trying to do every day.
I think we are in a balanced group. I think both Celtic and Benfica are strong teams, but perhaps the Scots are slightly more advantaged by the matches they are able to play at home in such a fantastic ambience.
Indeed, Celtic have shown more than once they are able to acquit themselves very well, just as their fans who always help them a lot."

On Friday the winners will be announced.

every one of them except for dida and ronaldo deserve to pick up an award.

right, sorry, i was thinking of the wpoy. he won it when sheva won the golden ball in 2004....undeservedly. both sheva and henry were more deserving of it.

wpoy is not really a prestegious award like golden ball for sure

official lineups announced. For us, Dida is back in goal, Bonera replaces the injured Kaladze and Inzaghi gets the nod upfront. The rest is the same ususal Milan
