Maro, I have to agree with you. Even our man Pelizzoli looked very sharp with a defense of Chivu and Samuel that was guarded by Emerson, Dacourt and De Rossi...

I don't think he is off the highest class either (Buffon, Frey, Casillas, Given). For me Amelia still has a lot to learn. He is still too prone to the odd howler, suspect under the high-ball, not as good a shot-stopper as Doni, and he also needs to command his area better. I think he actually probably has better reflexes than Doni, but still not enough of the overall package to oust the big Braziliano. We are alright in the goalkeeping department, although it will be interesting to see if Curci is content to stay for another season in reserve.

Curci needs to go out on loan and get shelled at some mid/bottom of the table Serie A club. The more shots the kid gets to face in competitive games the better.

Hell I would be happy to ship him off to a Serie B club to get some kind of action and bring him back the following season. Top clubs have good backups. I know others will hate me for it, but look at the likes of Chelsea, Man United and Real Madrid. All of this is assuming that the Sensi family retains ownership of the club.
