The Abu Dhabi based investment fund Aabar has formally denied making an offer for Roma.

It had been reported that a bid was lodged to rival another from an American consortium.

Bloomberg claims they have since received an email from Aabar's chief executive Mohamed Al-Husseiny to say: “An offer has not been made to buy Roma and Aabar does not intend to make one in the future.

“Aabar does not understand the reasons behind so much intense press speculation but wishes to distance itself from rumours regarding the valid and correct sale of the Italian football club.

“The journalists and other interested parties are invited to confirm the veracity of the reports directly with Aabar.”

Well, whatever way you look at it, absolutely terrible result. It really was a game we should of won but just could not produce the goods on the night for whatever reasons. I don't know, perhaps we felt that this one would work out good in the end and so did not give 100%, and a lot below-par performances and all round just not good enough. Credit to Brescia, they played well and deserve their point, but results like this are why we can't seriously be considered scudetto contenders.

I have to tell you Edzo, results like this are exactly why Roma has only 3 scudetti in its history. This match was a perfect encore illustration of the historical failures that plague the club, and the fans. Roma loserdom at its finest. To a deaf, dumb, illiterate mute, this game could have been from any year in the past three decades. Take your pick: 2002, 2003, 2007, 1986. Choose your team: Empoli, LIvorno, Lecce, Siena, I don't care. I suppose I should place myself in the brain dead fan category who actually believes each year that Roma can win something. My God, I'm a bigger ass than I thought. What is it that I am doing? How can I waste my entire life supporting this club and alter it around this team. I have devoted a lifetime to Roma, only to be consistently disappointed.

I am talking to you guys as well. What kind of lives are we living. Don't we have better things to do rather than be sickened by the performance of this team? Seriously, what the hell are we doing. I have missed out on many things over the course my life because I had to watch this team play. Why? I have spent thousands on satellite systems, new technology, and altering the landscape of my home so I could see this team play and what do I get for it.

I am just tired of this shit from Roma. Credit to Brescia? I don't know. This team comes in with 18 points, will probably be relegated, and it's just the same old, same old from Roma. There is no justifiable reason not to blow this team back to polenta country. Roma was a well rested team so I don't want hear any excuses from Ranieri, or any fucking player who was on that pitch tonight. This is why I just cannot get excited anymore. Milan and the lazie shit pigs draw, we have a game in hand to be played later this month, and we can't close the deal against a lousy, stinking, Brescia side. Nothing ever changes. This is why I just don't want to talk about Roma. I am completely disgusted.

More confirmation that Aabar was not one of the five parties to make a binding offer.

Italpetroli and Unicredit have confirmed that they have received five offers to buy Roma.

The club has officially been up for sale since the summer when Unicredit agreed a debt resettlement package with the Sensi family.

A statement from Italpetroli claims five bids have been made, although one isn't from the Abu Dhabi-based investment fund Aabar.

The Sensi family will consider the offers together with Unicredit over the next few days before a final decision is made.

Last week it emerged that one of the bids originates from American where talks were held with Thomas Di Benedetto.

Roma have been dealt a blow as Philippe Mexes has been banned for two matches meaning he'll miss two crucial fixtures in Serie A.

The France international is alleged to have insulted the fourth official at the end of last night's match against Brescia at the Stadio Olimpico.

Roma will now be without Mexes for the upcoming matches against Inter and Napoli, which could prove decisive in the title race.

The 28-year-old seems to have a habit of getting into trouble when Roma face Brescia.

He was sent off in the corresponding fixture at the Rigamonti earlier in the season.
