Well, here we have it already. With Inter going out, I'm hearing from these pundits about how Italian football is still in crises. It is not as good or as strong as its European counterparts. It just doesn't have the players, the money, the support or the clubs do succeed in the modern game. This is the kind of thing we're going to see over here, again and again and again, and it makes me sick. Forth place Liver'scum beating runaway leaders and defending Serie A champs Inter. Four EPL clubs in the last eight. One Italian side. Serie A doesn't have a patch on the Premiershit. Italian football is dead.

I know, I know, don't believe a word. But its hard not to... There is no doubt Italian football is not as strong as in its heyday of the 80's and 90's, and you have to admit that the access of power both financially and in terms of attracting star players has moved toward England. Financially, the rest can't compete. Does this make it a better league? Does it make it have better football? No. But it does attract better quality players, and these players do make these teams better and better over time, and so perhaps they are right. That is what I'm coming to believe. Perhaps they are right. Perhaps it is the best league. Perhaps we are fighting a lost cause, believing in something that has had its time. Its depresses me. I'm going to bed.
