Wouldn't you know it, the injury curse has hit us yet again, to compound our other problems.
Gio mentioned De Rossi is definitely out, as is Vučinić. Vuci's ailment is as I said on Wednesday, the quadriceps muscle in his right thigh. De Rossi has fluid retention, an edema in the calf.
To make matters worse, Ménez could be out too with a femoral nerve complaint. We aren't told which, though I'm imagining it is the one in his thigh rather than elsewhere.
Pizarro is reported as not fully 100% but will be available to play.
Romanews gives us a most interesting insight to the Italpetroli statement of yesterday evening.
"There is no direct negotiation with some potential buyer." (Italpetroli, late Thursday.)
In a communiqué posted on the official Roma website, and in order to clarify the confused issue regarding the operation of the selling of AS Roma, the "Newco" group presided over by Rosella Sensi gave an update on the present state of the situation. The negotiation, still in its embryonic phase, will proceed through varied stages:
It is communicated in resolution that Rothschild is proceeding on schedule in the introductory activity of the selection of potential buyers." When there is a more concrete show of interest, access will be granted to the information Memorandum, that is the document containing the relevant figures apertaining to the business of AS Roma.
IP continued by stating that according to protocol in operations of this nature, they are in contact with the subjects potentially interested and between these an interlocutory order* will be made so that an Information Memorandum can be given to a buyer in order to make a preliminary offer.
For this to happen, it is impossible to open a negotiation in these hours. Italpetroli reiterate there is presently no direct negotiation with some potential buyer."
Interlocutory is a legal term with several meanings:
As I read it, in our case, interlocutory can be a review or a judgment made in an intermediate stage between the commencement and termination of a course of action, to provide a temporary or provisional decision on an issue. Thus, an interlocutory order is not final and is not subject to immediate appeal. When the case is concluded, any aspect of an interlocutory order that has not become title may be challenged in an appeal from the final judgment.
James, having read the piece from Il Romanista and now this latest statement from Italpetroli, I would prefer to wait for more information before giving a personal opinion on the sale proceedings. The door would definitely seem open to a longer, more drawn out affair than we as fans would want.
Genoa President Enrico Preziosi Insists He Is Not Interested In Buying Roma
Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has said he is not interested in taking over Roma alongside Italian investment company Clessidra.
Roma's future is in the hands of creditors UniCredit and advisors Rothschild, who are trying to find a buyer. Preziosi has been linked with the club as part of a reported joint venture with Clessidra.
But the Italian chief has set the record straight, claiming he has no interest in financial investment with the Lupi.
"Those from Clessidra have been my associates for two years now. We understand that they are romanisti, but they are not just my associates," he told Radio Radio.
"But, apart from this there is nothing else. I'm sorry to disappoint Roma fans, but I tell the Genoa fans to remain tranquil. I am staying here."

The future of Roma could end up under foreign ownership as a plethora of investors around the globe show interest in the foundering Italian side, according to the Financial Times.
The news is a massive development from Thursday's headlines in which Il Corriere dello Sport claimed there was a delay in finding a buyer linked to negative results.
However, FT claims there could be 12 offers presented to the Rothschild group who are finding a buyer on behalf of club creditors UniCredit.
Half of the offers come from China, USA, Russia and India, with the remainder emerging from Italian markets.
The first offers could arrive by next month as Rothschild are expected to send memos to all the interested parties about possible investment in the club.
It is said an offer between €170m and €200m could be enough as the bidding battles commence.

AS Roma, the Italian Serie A football club put up for sale by UniCredit, has received nearly a dozen expressions of interest from investors, including individuals from the US, China, Russia and India.
The sale of AS Roma, which has a market capitalisation of €140m ($196m), comes amid heightened investor interest in European football clubs. Liverfekkin'wankscum, the UK Premiershit club, is currently in the middel of a legal battle over a sale to the owners of the Boston Red Sox baseball team.
One of Europe’s most renowned clubs, AS Roma is languishing at the bottom of its league. It was put on the block by Italian bank UniCredit in lieu of long outstanding debt repayments owed to the bank by the club’s parent company, Italpetroli.
In response to a memorandum on the club, nearly a dozen individuals considered to be serious contenders have expressed an interest in taking it over, according to several sources familiar with the deal.
More than half of the expressions of interest came from outside Italy, the sources said. Naguib Sawiris, the Egyptian businessman who owns telecom provider Wind and is a sponsor of AS Roma, has also said publicly in recent days that he is interested in acquiring the club.
In contrast to the Liverfekkin'wankscum sale process, where fans would prefer to keep the club in English hands, parties close to AS Roma, including Rome’s mayor Gianni Alemanno, have said they are open to foreign ownership as a means of reinvigorating the team.
Binding offers are expected before the middle of November, and it is hoped the deal should close by the end of the year, according to several sources. The club could potentially fetch €170m to €200m, according to financial sources.
Finalising the sale within that timeframe could prove difficult though, not least because the club does not own its own stadium, say football experts. AS Roma’s unusually lowly position in the Serie A could complicate any deal, as could the process of splitting the club constitutionally from its holding company, say experts.
UniCredit took control of AS Roma in July in an attempt to recoup at least some of the long overdue repayments on the €400m of debt held by Italpetroli. The bank appointed Rothschild as advisers to the sale. UniCredit owns 49 per cent of Italpetroli, which in turn owns 67 per cent of AS Roma, with the rest listed on the Milan stock exchange.
Under Italian law, any single shareholder owning more than 30 per cent in a company must launch a full takeover.
I try to post when I can Ed. Watching the little one all day whilst looking for jobs makes it difficult. But when I do I try to make it a post that at least adds something. I think Carlo is doing a great job with his updates. Did you see my post in the SB yesterday with the link to the Elvis Costello song about that old cnut Maggie. I thought you would appreciate it.
wtf? What did you think of Carlo's interpretation of Aquilani's interview, thredzo? And what do you think of the fact that Soros has been reported as denying he ever had any serious interest in buying the club? Did that not surrprise you and make you wonder what the hell was really going on back then? You may not agree with me, but I don't see how those observations can be seen to be flatly untenable or simply perverse for the sake of being perverse. Why don't you actually engage with the terms of the discussion and see where that leads?
I'll say this once. For the sake of peace and forum harmony I chose not to make an issue of the Aquilani thing. I believe I am correct. Tom believes he is correct. It seemed we had done the adult thing, agreed to disagree, and left it at that. Apparently this is not the case.
That said, I believe anyone is entitled to his right to differ from me or anyone else here. That's the design and purpose of a forum. On the other hand, to continue referring to what should be a closed subject is another matter entirely. It's a waste of time, space, and energy, to say nothing of being a breeding ground for negativity.
Ed, unless you choose to remove me as a moderator then I intend to continue. If anyone isn't happy about that, I'm not here to win popularity contests, I'm here to keep the Roma threads updated which I will do.
Remove you as mod, Carlo? That thought has never crossed my mind, nor I have I seen any indication elsewhere that anyone would suggest that. You are doing a fine job.
