if menez has a great season at roma, then he will walk into the starting lineup of the french team. he's not going to get another chance in the starting lineup until he has a solid string of games for roma, though. i don't see him starting this week.

Various reports suggest that Borriello is in line to start against Cagliari alongside Totti (obviously), so it would be one from Menez and Vucinic who would be dropped. Initially it looked like Vucinic who would be the one given his inconsistent form, but now its more likely to be Menez since he didn't play well for France in their last game and is likely to be dropped for their next one (tomorrow?). Vucinic scored the winner against Wales, and because he's a fekkkin legend, there is no way he can be dropped. So it could be a 4-4-2 with Vooch on the left. At least its good to have options.

So Riise is out for a few weeks with a concussion. We gonna see a Burdi-Juan-Mexes-Cassetti backline the coming weeks or is Ranieri gonna start with Castellini at leftback and no place for Mexes?

Friday there is a meeting between Unicredit and Rotschild about the sale of AS Roma. Angelucci had today a meeting with Unicredit to share his plans about how he is gonna run Roma. Last week I read that his father gave the OK to invest in it, the whole family will be involved. And with his political connections... Not too happy if he indeed becomes the new owner of Roma.

About Clessidra I'm not sure either, hopefully Angelini gonna jump in with them.

Yeah, Vooch can't be considered a legend yet. If he plays a full game this week for Montenegro, Menez may get the nod as he'll probably be more rested. Neither one of them exactly shone in Roma's first game.

I agree with Gio that Roma didn't acquire Borriello to sit his pretty ass on the bench. (okay, *he* didn't say the pretty ass part) ;-) It's good that we have some competition up front, as no one can get complacent.

Heres a link to a picture of Adriano training at Trigoria yesterday. Someone posted it on the offside. I have to say Adriano looks to be in great shape and looks to be working hard. I do hope he keeps it up and regains his form because Jesus what a strike force we will have if he does with Totti,Vucinic,Borriello,Menez,Okaka and Adriano!

Lupa & Ed, we will miss Riise with a capital M! We all know how effective Nico Burdisso is as a central defender but if you recall, the one time he was used as a makeshift RB, Ranieri had to take him off and play Motta instead, albeit reluctantly. So I hope Castellini is ready to step up on the left but I'd have thought it's more likely we'll see Rosi at right back and Casetti moving to the left with Castellini as a sub if required!

Jeff, I hope that isn't a computer retouched image, a joke at the expense of we Romanisti! If Adri is losing that amount of weight then I'm wondering if it's too much water loss because I can't see him getting rid of that amount of fat so quickly and it's the fat he needs to lose. Excess water loss as we know leads to energy loss and dehydration.

Glancing through Football Italia earlier, they are making the Rothschild news look like a takeover is imminent because the preparing of the necessary documents to be presented to the interested parties has been brought forward. For me this is just their way of dramatising their own late reporting of those facts we read in the Roma websites days ago...

What has certainly caught my attention from LaRomasiamonoi is that in addition to the known names of Angelini, Angelucci, Aabar, Sawiris, and the Clessidra Group, an as yet unnanmed American and a German group have both been added to the list of prospective buyers.

Unicredit say they are committed to making sure la nostra Roma ends up in the "right" hands which can mean a number of things.
