Loazzi, I seriously doubt that will happen.

I don't think Unicredit would even come this far as to quite literally repossess Roma without a reasonably solid belief that buyers are "in waiting" so to speak. Profumo is a businessman and he knows stripping Roma of its assets is a last resort situation.

By the end of tomorrow's so-called D-Day meeting, we may have a better idea of exactly which names are involved with Angelini in his consortium of businessmen who are reportedly ready to step in.

I had been guardedly optimistic when this news first broke last week end. Then I began to see our principessa look like she may once again be able to wriggle free and retain her position as our club's owner, if only on a "borrowed time" scenario as I said to Tommaso.


Finally...it would seem at last it's no longer a case of "if" but "when" she is forced out, and I like many others hope we will see our proud new owners in place as soon as it can be legally arranged after tomorrow!


Then let us wish for a prudent and productive mercato, that our new management buys wisely and does not behave like a kid at the candy store window...

My believe is, he said it numerous times, that Angelini gonna make his move the next day when Sensi is gone since there is some bad blood between them.

And another thing, give Prade the boot too and bring back Franco Baldini.

Personally, Lavazza, I think that has to be a very serious concern. Profumo, clearly, wouldn't do anything which would financially 'harm' the club since it wouldn't be in his interests to do so; on the other hand, his parameters would be slightly different from Rosella's and if they don't have someone lined up to sell to then, for instance, you'd think we were pretty vulnerable to an over-the-odds offer for players like Vooch and De Rossi.

If this was a cut and dried case of the "repo" man coming-a-calling and no more than that, then yes, we could expect to see our prize assets being sold off. I ignored that thought when it occurred to me because I say it's in Profumo's best business interest to keep us as attractive as we can be to encourage a sale, rather than to act through any personal feeling he may have as a ner'azzurro by trying to undermine our strength.

In any case, wouldn't that be a futile act? Our new owners would merely buy adequate replacements for those players sold off if that doesn't sound too much of a sacrilege when referring to irreplaceables like Vuci and De Rossi...

It's a scenario that will only come about if no-one buys us and can you honestly see absolutely no-one buying a club like Roma, given the chance? I guess the trouble there is, if for some reason the asking price is suddenly forced above that which the Angelini led consortium considers viable, it does leave us at the tender mercies of those we'd rather not think about.

Surmising, Carlo? Clearly everyone's free to surmise as much or as little as they like. I wasn't aware I was "surmising" at all - I was simply saying to Lavazza that I think it's clear the club has an uncertain future at this point (for all that that uncertaintly might be resolved within a day or two) and that, like Lavazza, I'm open-eyed to that uncertainty. Not knowing very much about Profumo I'm inclined to do him the courtesy of assuming he's a man of integrity and business sense; certainly I should be very surprised were his inclinations as a tifoso to have even the slightest bearing on his actions as a professional. Uncertainty may almost immediately give way to excitement or more serious anxiety - we shall see; at this point, though, Lavazza's point is a good one. No doubt nothing would be done to compromise the financial value of the club (since that value would lie in its assets just as much as in its cash resources), but working within exclusively financial terms might end up affecting the value of the club as conceived by tifosi.

Or, to put it another way, I can't see Profumo et al. being so wary of an over-the-odds deal for a player like Aquilani where a true Roman owner would certainly be more resistant. Oh, hang on.
