Roma, attenta: l'Inter vuole Aquilani

Dietro la Roma c'è sempre l'Inter, quasi un'ossessione sta diventando dopo la telenovela Chivu. La notizia di oggi, che rimbalza prepotentemente da Roma e trova le prime conferme a Milano, è che l'Inter sarebbe sulle tracce del centrocampista giallorosso Alberto Aquilani, classe 1984. Il direttore sportivo Pradè sta tentennando sul prolungamento del contratto del calciatore e i neroazzurri stanno avviando una trattativa importante. Aquilani è sotto contratto con la Roma fino al 2010, guadagna circa un milione di euro a stagione. Le cifre che proporrebbe Moratti, per accontentare Mancini, sono importanti: due milioni e mezzo a stagione al calciatore e circa 20 alla famiglia Sensi per portare Aquilani a Milano. Nel frattempo dall'entourage del centrocampista romano non trapelano indiscrezioni. Massimo riserbo sulla questione da parte di Franco ed Emiliano Zavaglia.

Lucarelli likes Roma option

Roma could be a January destination for Cristiano Lucarelli after Torino denied any interest in the Shakhtar Donetsk player. The Italian international is expected to quit the Ukrainian giants in the New Year following their Champions League exit and a host of Italian clubs have been associated with his services. Roma are the latest outfit to be linked and agent Carlo Pallavicino has insisted that his client would be interested in a capital switch.??“Lucarelli wouldn’t have any problem in joining Roma, especially as Shakhtar are prepared to hand him over on a loan basis,â€

Shieldypoo, I think the match tonight is at 7:30 Italian time. I quite like the idea of adding another striker to the squad though I was initially against it. Spags has said that he doesn't really want to see any movement in or out over January though presumably players like Pit and Barusso are likely to see some loan action. I just think that our 4-2-3-1 is so dependent in its conception on Perrotta and Totti. Certainly we've seen other players come in and it still work - Vooch up top and Giuly or the little eagle in behind Totti. Still, given that the shape was designed to bring out the best of a team with those two players in it, it is at times strange to see us playing the same way, at Torino, for instance, when Simone's on the bench and Totti's in Rome. Equally, I'm not entirely sure that Spags had too many other options available to him whereas with a second striker in the team perhaps we could have played a slightly more direct 4-4-2 with 'Lucarelli' in for Brighi, as it were. Without Okaka and Monty we don't really even have the option of going to a 4-4-2 and certainly not when Totti is out. Of course Spags might have tried that with either Esposito or Giuly as a second striker but we haven't really seen it hitherto. The big difference from Tavano, of course, is that Lucarelli has at least been playing.

Shieldy, this site has pretty regular updates on the Primavera studs. Not much, but at least some commentary from people who have seen the games.

There was also a good site which used to breakdown all the prospies way down to the u-15/u-17 level for the nazionale, but I haven't seen that for some time.

I've seen one clip from the Primavera this year, and there's this kid named Giuliano Falco who looks pretty fricken good. Scored what has to be the Giallorossi goal of the year thus far. Lofted a gorgeous swerve into the side netting directly off a corner in the little Derby. I need to find it for votd.

fair point made. with most of our defensive problems mainly because our wings give up so much space that it spreads our central defense apart which is forced to kick-start a relationship between Mexes and Juan. the likes of Perrotta and Taddei have always tracked back to help, but the rest of our trequartista line is not as helpful, would our future transfers be after players that can play along that line and help our with the defense more?? or would we focus on trying to find complete fullbacks that can play D and attack, which may defeat the purpose of our signing Cicinho (unless he becomes a RMF for us). if we managed to be praised with one of the best defences before, what changed our team this much?? has the departure of Chivu impacted us this greatly??

Italiamia is right, I meant to mention something about this but just went with the reader comment:

A little bit of both. I'd say Spalletti is definitely the one with the leash on, the cause is just at question. With a more defensive mid in there I'd think Spal worries a little less about DDR's impact on the back four as long as one maintains positioning and can provide assistance. Kind of a fulcrum effect which is more difficult with David.

great........ we get routed by Recoba in Torino 3 - 1 with Comotto grabbing that last goal........ anyone think we maybe shouldn't have let him go this summer??
