vucinic = decent. confident on the ball as usual but some wasted chances again today. he did look pretty good out wide (1st half) and less so when totti came off...but we were rarely threatening / pushing forward at that point aside from a couple of runs along the wing (notably, mancini's chances). - 6.5

Yes, Glad, I'd agree with all those comments, though I thought Mancini was a bit in and out. Totti faded (oddly enough), but some of his touches in the first half - the kid has vision, let's leave it at that. Rusty, presumably a bit physically off the money, and still he shows what we miss without him - accuracy, vision, technique, the ability to see the pass and make it. Accurate and brilliant - or accurately brilliant - that's some talent.
Vooch should have had at least two today, Avvocato, and had he buried those two then the press would be singing his praises again. He got forward beyond Totti to good effect, coming off the line at the right time but also giving us width too when we needed it. Plenty of nice bits and pieces and some good pace and power. He's not Lionel Messi on the ball, but another tidy performance.
Pizza I thought was simply superb.

Thank you all for the commentary. I hope to see this on a replay later tonight. You know, I did not realize how bad Lazie is right now. Only 4 points above the drop zone. I suppose we have a lot to be thankful for right about now. I don't have an ounce of sympathy for lazie and its fans. I was doing a search a few weeks ago and I don't know how I came upon a diary written by a lazie fan. It was typical lazie garbage and the inferiority complex was evident throughout. Then when I see that miserable son of bitch Vincenzo D'Amico on Sundays, it makes me want to vomit. How did he get that gig I want to know. He should be out on a window ledge somewhere. I used to give him a pass until he tried to start a fight with Spalletti last month and he was immediately cut off by the host of the show.

yes, fleury is pretty inconsistant. he did not impress me in the couple of games i've seen him in, the latest being against edmonton. i guess i expected more by now given his promise and hype when he first cracked the league. its still early in his carreer so my assessment may be too premature. also, we are pretty lucky here with luongo so that may skew my opinion of most goalies as a result. another thing is that i dont see him as regularly as you do so i may be basing my observation without the complete picture.
there is no doubt pittsburgh has a great future ahead of them. that letang is looking pretty good too...he had a great goal in the shootout last night which i think won the game. they have the foundation in place for a potential stanley cup winner in the near future. another team to watch that has risen from the ashes are the chicago blackhawks.
