Good performance from Roma yesterday (what, it wasn't yesterday? I believe I missed out on a day). Without trying to sound to negative, I think we could of put out Roma's under-15 side and they would of beaten that Fiorentina performance. They were truly pathetic and goes to highlight Prandelli still has problems instilling some steel and mental toughness into his players. A bit similar to Spalletti's downfall, you might say, and perhaps a weakness of trying to play nice football. Nevertheless, we still had to do a job and done it well. A confident looking performance and we even managed to play some fairly attractive football in the first-half, shock horror. Its fairly clear to us all the difference Vucinic (or to a lessor extent Okaka) makes to this side, and what he (they) bring which allows more freedom and space for Perrotta and Taddei to shine. Burdisso has been very good for us and has looked very solid and composed, which is another surprise, I suppose (but you still can't help but shake that feeling that a major blooper is just around the corner). I don't get the big commotion with dropping Mexes, he's simply not being playing well and we have two centre-halfs who are playing better than he, and so it all makes sense. It should shape Mexes into gear a little and give him the kick up the backside he probably needs. RomaNews thinks he will still be on the bench for Palermo but I wonder if we'll see Burdisso moved to right-back with Mexes in the middle to make things even tighter at the back.

Seduta mattutina per la Roma al Fulvio Bernardini (clima sereno, 26 gradi), alla vigilia della sfida contro il Palermo. Ranieri potrà contare su un gruppo praticamente al completo. Cicinho e Brighi si stanno allenando anche oggi con i compagni e sono quindi recuperati. Unico assente dal campo Baptista. Lavoro differenziato per Tonetto. Doni si allena con i portieri. La squadra lavora sulla parte atletica (corsetta). Poi tecnica individuale (palleggi) e schemi.

Yeah I don't think Kroo has posted in months alright, but I have seen him online a good bit too and had a brief conversation with him in the SB one evening in which he said he's been keeping very busy and has a little time for posting, as much as he'd like too. He also said he's afraid of Aba because he keeps sending him 'i love u will u b my boyfriend' PM's, which is weird.

Doni is back, but not sure if he'll reclaim his number one spot straight away seeing as how he's lacking match fitness and JS has done fine in goal. Cicinho is still crocked, likewise Baptista. Still no Andreolli, but he'll need to be patient, and also still no Cerci, which is more of a concern, and he looks to be really struggling to make an impact on Ranieri.


In other news, the Il Romanista newspaper will be back in shops in Rome from , after a six month closure.

is saying we will have Brighi and Doni both available to il mister for Sicilia and that Mexes will probably partner Burdisso in central defence. Contrary to earlier reports Cicinho is still out. So too are Baptista and Tonetto.

I've been looking for an update on Vučinić re/his left knee but there's nothing. Let's hope the old saying of "no news is good news" applies here!

...and a little gossip. Mediaset go on to mention Ilary Blasi's week end interview in the "Chi" magazine, saying she wants her husband back in la nazionale!

He's certainly looking a lot fitter, lost that excess weight he was carrying, and if he can maintain some sort of form consistency it would be a nice thought, seeing our Capitan' Francesco back in the fold. I doubt it will happen though.
