I am still a big Perrotta fan. His movement is what gets him so many chances on goal. His finish is not great by any means but would those opportunities exist if he were replaced by a player with lesser movement. I am interested to see what our lineup will be over the next two matches. I could see Aquilani playing instead of Perrotta on Wednesday and Pizarro back beside De Rossi. Does anyone know if Esposito is

Just watched yesterdays game. You really have to say it, several times, really: how the flying fucking potatoes did we not win that fecking game? How? How how how (because we drew, obviously, sling it)? Fuckincnutinhow?? We played very well at times, the way we would all expect, but we just seemed to take our foot of the gas, lose concentration and intensity, and even looked nervous and lazy at times, and allowed Juve a way back into it. Really, after The Waterboy missed that peno, and Andrade went off, we should of added a third. We played great, had some chances, relaxed a little, then came back strong again, but just couldn't add that all important third. Perrotta had a great chance, Mancini had a great chance, we were all over them, pushing forward, Juve looked rattled, had a new centre-half partnership, and we really should of hammered home our advantage, but we could not.
For their goal, instead of commenting on the bizarre decision by the ref to turn around the throw-in (as most already have – and I agree that it was a dubious call), I will focus on how we conceded a goal from a fucking throw-in. Directly from a fucking throw in. Simply terrible. A long throw from Chiellini and Iaquinta goes up, unchallanged, and nods it in. We may as well of put had a Kit-Kat on the sideline and let them tap it in. First of all, from a set-piece situation, why wasn't either Mexes or Juan marking Iaquinta? He is their biggest aerial threat. It was De Rossi who was on him, and he let him go, and then Cicinho stood and watched while Iaquinta headed it (in fairness, not much he could do). I mean, its basic fucking stuff – it was obvious a long-throw was coming, as they was no one near Chiellini, so you simply have to have someone on the near post attacking the ball. Attack the ball!! Yet no one did, and Iaquinta nodded it in, whilst stopping for a quick smoke and chat with Trez. You can't blame Doni for that, as you could not expect to give the opposition to have a free header on target from that position. It was slack, and it was lazy, and it cost us two points.
A few selected comments:
Doni: I loved it when he arsed Iaquinta in the face. Made some good saves, in command under high-balls. Can't be blame for the goal (see above). I would argue that you could call Doni a world-class keeper. Perhaps he is not the full shillen yet, but if he continues in this form for the entire season that it would be hard not to consider him such.
Tonetto: SuperMax super-charged to the max as always, as you would expect. Is their a better left-back in Serie A right now?
Mexes: Solid throughout, in command under the high ball, made vital clearances, yet at times he didn't look at ease alongside Juan.
Juan: Not a great game, Iaquinta bossed him a bit too much, and honestly I thought he'd be a bit stronger on the ball. Like most things, it will take time for his partnership and understanding with Mexes to gel.
Cicinho: Looked nervous at first, but came good and showed his ability going forward late on. The throw in was a very harsh call.
Aquilani: Looked in great shape, always eager to get on the ball, which we need him to do, and comfortable in spreading the play and dictating the tempo. Deserves all his recent praise. Him and De Rossi had a great understanding. I begining to come around to the idea of Pizarro getting used to the bench.
Taddei: Poor game, looked lazy, was wasteful, and often took the wrong decision and complained about it. We need to rotate, not only to keep players fresh, but also to make them realise that if they play bad, they can be dropped, because now we have depth – Giuly, Vucinic and Esposito.
Mancini: Impressive at times and looked to be getting back to full-fitness. Held onto the ball better than he usually does, and was better with his choice of passing. Having said that, if he is to improve as a player, I still feel he needs to work on his concentration levels throughout the game. Also, he needs to attack players more. He has the ability to beat them, so he needs to take them on at pace and use his skill, and then creat something. Perhaps this will come with more match sharpness.
Totti: You really do begin to take his brilliance for granted, and always expect magic, which he still produced. A great turn for his first, and overall some of the flicks and touches were sublime. Held the ball up very well and led the line brilliantly. Not bad for a man who's never won anything.
The LitM: MotM from the bench, because he's just that damn good.
Definetley two points lost. And its even worse when you think how easy we had it at periods in that second-half. Juve looked like they had given up at times, but just that inability to push on and hammer home our advantage cost us dear. A bad laught considering our next run of fixtures.
Giallo-rossi.ie, ya paddy muc-savage horseman, good to see you around here again. Its been a few years. I agree we should probably begin to rotate the team a little, starting with Fiorentina. Nothing major like, but we now have the quality in depth to rotate a couple of players. Bring in Giuly for Perrotta, perhaps Esposito for Taddei, maybe Ferrari for Juan, give Cicinho a start, drop Totti for his equal in Vucinic (joking, I crack myself up), little things and selections which could make a difference in fitness levels. Like you said though, Spalletti has shown a stubborn reluctance when it comes to such matters, so it remains to be seen if we can. In the past, we relied on the strength of our first 11 to push us to glory, but now we have more quality in depth its perhaps time for change.
Aba, hope you enjoyed the game. Poor you, having to organise travel up to Florence for the game. Must be a pain in the rectum. My thoughts are with you. Let us know how you get on.
By the way, I saw this on TV and I thought it something quite Rome-esque. Marseille were playing away to Auxerre yesterday and they brought the wrong kit (the home instead of the away), so they were forced to wear Auxerre's third kit (with no names on the back), and lost 2-0 after a dire perforance. Guess what they blamed? Who said Roma had bad management bad?

Can anyone confirm the validity of this? I saw it over at addict without a link and it looks like someone translated it from Italian, because I can't find this writer in English anywhere. It looks like she writes or settimana, but I'm not seeing the interview.
