balotelli is the first choice striker, but he's also paid for his mistakes. i don't necessarily agree with prandelli's "code of ethics", but to say that osvaldo is singled out for discipline is unfair to balotelli and even de rossi and other players who have been dropped for that reason. it was definitely a short-sighted and stupid decision on prandelli's part, but balotelli has felt that whip too. no pun intended.

Wow! I don't know why you are taking this so personally. I've no problems with you or any Italians. Quite the opposite, in fact. I love Italy and everything about it, it is easily my second favourite country after my homeland. I've been there around 12 times and are going back again in a few weeks. The only reason I've highlighted any of the racial issues – first the 'chants' at games themselves such as Roma in Milan, then second with other stories like Berlusconi's brother or that article from John Foot about that black politician being call an "orangutan" – is because I believe them to be wrong and something which shouldn't be accepted. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
