Giacomo, you are missing the point somewhat but I can't respond at this moment. Remember, Unicredito has a 49% share in Italpetroli, not A.S Roma. The Sensi shares comprise 67% of the outstanding stock. If the sale of Roma happens, Unicredito's 49% share must be transferred back to the Sensi family. Roma is not on Ip's balance sheet. It is Ip that has incurred the debt, not Roma. Franco Sensi made this deal and in doing so, put the club at risk to his personal interests in keeping it.

The objective is to be successful and I wish I could feel that Rosella actually cares about the success of the team. Unfortunately, through many things she has done over the years, I cannot come to that conclusion. She is barely holding on right now. She does not have the capacity to run a big time football club. There is no excuse in my opinion for the lack of progress in developing other revenue streams for this club. We have non-existent marketing and as Stefano said a few weeks back, Totti could have been our biggest asset in this area. Rome, in and of itself is a marketing dream. The point is that we do not have capable people running the business side of this club because Rosella perceives qualified people as a threat. We have a media and political hack in Pippo Marra running this club and Rosella does not do a thing without first consulting him.

It's sad enough for me that we have to regard a Europa League prelim against a side like Kosice as being important. We should win but it's not a foregone conclusion.

One point that Giacomo made that is correct is that Rosella's priority is for IP to reduce its UC debt FAR OUTWEIGHS any priority she may or may not have for Roma to be successful. That is somewhat understandable from a business person's perspective but not acceptable to a tifoso. Also, just hypothetically speaking, that order of priorities opens the door for sacrificing Roma (which includes cutting costs, selling players and perhaps even taking bribes) all to raise money to pay back debt. As a tifoso, I want her out ASAP. At the same time, I understand her wanting to raise money to pay back her debt. We would all want to do that. But to do that at Roma's expense like she is is disgusting to me.

Absolutely, Lavazza. There was plenty in that last post from Giacomo which made much more sense to my mind than some of his earlier comments; I think a fair few of us have been making that particular point for a while, though. One of the real problems, of course, is that "success on and off the pitch" can actually mean more than one thing. I think, for instance, that were Rosella offered by the good Lord 10 fourth-place finishes and 10 CL quarterfinal defeats for the next 10 years, she and Unicredit would almost certainly bite the good Lord's hand off for that - because that's the degree of success that's needed to make the sums add up. Much better that than a real success or two and a few years out of the money in between times.

Two points in relation to Giacomo's post: first, I suspect the debt is more than 300 now and so the soros offer didn't quite cover enough. More, I suspect Rosella and everyone thinks at this moment that it was a terrible mistake not to accept it. And, finally, that she didn't accept it because Unicredit weren't forcing her hand at that point and she wanted to hang onto the club for personal reasons (in the belief, I suspect, that it was a small step from victory in the Bernabeu and second-place to greater glories and in ignorance of that fact that it was an even smaller step from there to sixth place and draws in small stadia in slovakia.

Not forgetting their manager Roy Hodgson who was allenatore of Inter from 1995-97...and again as short term caretaker manager in '99 until Lippi arrived.

Spalletti is not blind to this guy's presence as he commented yesterday. As I recall, even though Hodgson didn't win anything with Inter, he was considered a safe pair of hands.

I know 90° Minuto and Domenica Sportiva have both never quite seemed the same since, without his heavily English accented but perfect Italian, and the fact that he always managed to get himself interviewed by a particular female whose cleavage he could hardly ever take his eyes out of.

I wish I could remember her name...I likened her to 60's and 70's movie star Ann-Margret.
